Lloyd's POV

I sigh as I glance at all my teammates faces. All sullen and hopeless. It's a look I don't see on them very often, and one I wish to never see at all. I grumble as I slam my fists on the table in the meeting room.

"Guys! We need to figure this out! There are 4 women who have been gone the longest. Skylor Chen, Vania Sky, P.I.X.E.L. Borg and Princess Harumi Jade!"

"It's been years since the case of the missing people and we haven't figured it out yet! We need to find them!" I exclaim. They all seem a little startled by my outburst until Cole speaks up.

"Believe us buddy, we have been trying. We've been looking for years! Maybe we just have to accept that this case might have to be abandoned..." he explains.

"Abandoned?! What about all those missing people?! All they're families that were ripped apart! We're just going to leave them? Are you all crazy?" I yell.

They all seem to frown at my angry tone as Jay speaks up.

"Of course not! We aren't going to leave the case, we should just take a break. Explore some other cases," Jay starts.

"That's the definition of abandoning a case!" I fire back.

"Lloyd! Calm down," Nya speaks up.

"I am calm! I am the definition of calm!" I holler. I then slam my fist onto the table as I push my chair out.

"The meetings closed. Everyone's dismissed," I grumble as I stand up as I storm out of the room.

"Lloyd wait!" Kai pleads.

"Save it Kai!" I yell back as I leave the room, slamming my bedroom door behind me.
——————————————————————————
I sigh as I flop down onto the mattress in the middle of my room.

How could they all just leave the case?

What about all those people?

We just leave them to die?

I use my hands to cover my face as I tiredly exhale.

Great, now I yelled at my team. I'm the worst leader ever.

Just then, I hear a knock come from my door. I sit up at the sudden sound as I stare at the door.

"Big shot? Can we talk?" A voice sounds.

I know that voice from anywhere. That's my friend. I sigh as I move to lay down until he speaks again.

"Please."

I groan tiredly as I move to get off my bed as I slump to the door. I then tiredly turn the door knob to see a nervous Kai.

"Hey," he smiles.

I smile at him as I step aside, letting him into the room. He smiles thankfully as he moves to sit on my bed, as I follow right after.

"I see that this case means a lot to you," he starts.

I keep my gaze away from him as I gaze at the floor. I don't answer immediately as I feel tears prick my eyes. I push them back, successfully, but I know it won't hold long as a few bits of memories fly back at me.

"It's just-I know what it's like..... to be ripped apart from your family. To be left alone and abandoned. For no one to care for you," I spoke, as my voice lightly cracked in the middle of the sentence.

Kai instantly notices this as he quickly wraps his arms around me, bringing me into a tight hug.

"We can't leave them Kai. We can't... we can't let them die," I beg.

"I know... and we won't. We'll keep looking for them," he assures.

"You promise?" I ask hopefully.

"I promise," he confirmed.

I smile happily as I hug him tightly.

"Thank you Kai."

"What are brothers for Lloyd?"
