Q1. How did you come up with the title for your book?

A1. The title was the first thing that came up to my mind when I decided to write a book. The idea was to write about a demon that haunts the protagonist in her nightmares, so I translate the word "nightmare" into Italian, which is my first language, and looked for the Latin version. Without actually knowing it, I was writing about a real demon and, after various and numerous researches, I managed to create this story! So, I thought it was a great idea to create a story set into modern times, even though there's no time reference, that recalls an ancient belief. Also, I'm a huge fan of everything that revolves around mythology, demons and other supernatural creatures and stories.(PS: well.... you are an indeed genius!)👏

Q2. What was the trickiest thing about writing characters of the opposite gender in this book?

A2. Luckily, I didn't find anything tricky while writing characters of the opposite gender, I simply described their emotions the way I imagined, because I believe that boys can cry or be scared just like girls without resulting less masculine. Moreover, I think that anyone would be frightened or would weep if found facing a demon.(PS: absolutely right! I am in love with your thoughts)😭🥺

Q3. If you could be a character in this book, who would you be?

A3. This is a tough choice since everyone is somehow involved with the demon and, for that, not living an easy life. If I had to choose, I would probably select Hongjoong as I created him with all my interests for dark magic and demonic stuff!(PS: what's your choice guys?)😉

Q4. What are the essential characteristics of a hero in this book you can root for?

A4. I would say slyness, cool head and courage

Q5. When you're writing an emotional or difficult scene, how do you set the mood?

A5. I think that identification with the character and the situation is the key. I always imagine myself in that situation and adapt my choices or my actions into the characters' personalities. When it comes to descriptions, the details, especially colours can be really helpful to set the mood. Just imagine describing a sad moment with bright colour, in my opinion it won't set the mood properly!(PS: chef's kiss)✨

Q6. How many hours a day do you write?

A6. It depends, every day is different! Usually, I don't pay much attention to how many hours I spend writing, I rather focus on how many words I write, since my chapters are 2000 words long. So, I tend to write around 500 words per day, so that I can finish writing a chapter in four days.

Q7. Does writing energize or exhaust you? Or both?

A7. Actually, both. It always depends on the day. There are days where I feel the need to isolate myself and writing helps me, days where I have tons of ideas in my brain and prefer to write them all down, and days where I'm physically or mentally tired where I don't write.

Q8. Have you ever killed off a character your readers loved?

A8. Not at the moment, hehet!(PS: please don't it hurts!)😭

Q9. How do you process and deal with negative book reviews?

A9. Luckily, I haven't received many negative feedbacks. However, I read, listen only to productive reviews. If the reviews says that my book is cringe, I guess it depends on the different tastes a person has; if the feedback suggest that I should write certain scenes in a certain way and keeps an impartial opinion, I keep it in mind and try what it recommends. In the end, I choose if I want to follow what readers write or not.

Q10. What advice would you give to a writer working on their first book?

A10. Give your everything! It's your first book and it's like a calling card, for you, people will notice you thanks to that book, so do your best! Also, I find it interesting when authors insert details about them inside the chapters, it'll help readers to understand more about their personalities. Moreover, you should be patient: at the beginning, it may be discouraging to see that no one is reading or voting for your story, but readers and votes will come to you! I remember when I first started writing... I used to obtain only one read per chapter and zero votes and I thought about unpublishing the book a lot, but I scolded myself to wait and here I am! What is important, is that you're writing because you like it and you want it!
