When I had called Jess and told her about my actions she had cheered and whooped. Telling me "the way to a person's heart is through there stomach."

I guess she was right from the way Samuel had greeted me after figuring out that the snacks were meant for him. That had to be the best hug I've ever received in my life and I've only been hugged a handful of times.

Samuel's hugs were different from the ones I've received before. They were warm and held affection and care. It was like hugging a plush teddy bear that was breathing. Obviously I wouldn't let Samuel know I compared him to a stuffed inanimate object, even though in reality that's what it felt like to me.

He smelt so good too, something along the lines of sugar cookies and candy. An odd smell really, but somewhat comforting. I'd come to the realization that if giving Samuel food meant that I would get one of those hugs again then me, the supermarket, and any food delivery business, were about to become the best of friends.

I'm once again pulled from thoughts as I see Samuel unlock the front door. He steps in and takes off his shoes and I move to do the same. I hear a soft giggle come from him and I turn to glare.

"What's so funny?" I ask a little hurt. I knew he was laughing at my Spongebob and Patrick socks and it made me question what's so wrong with it.

Samuel said nothing but continued to softly laugh. When I notice him leaving to the kitchen, that's when my actions had dawned on me.

I just spoke...and I made Samuel laugh.

What kind of sorcery is this?

After we spent the afternoon planning for Friday, I found myself looking at the time every five minutes. Thursday seemed to drag along slowly just to spite me but soon enough the day had ran its course.

Friday finally came along and I could tell that I wasn't the only one excited. I lost count of the times Samuel started to explain to me about the supplies for the project.

If it wasn't about pictures and boards then it was about the format and line up of our project. One thing I could say for sure was that Samuel took his school work very seriously.

Throughout the first period we both engaged in conversation about what we might add to the boards. Samuel came up with the idea that we could do a photo collage and I offered that we do a timeline.

In the end we decided that we would do a photo timeline of each year of our lives. We would add milestones and achievements. Little things and which year they sprouted.

As the day rolled around, the last period came about and we presented our idea to the teacher.

"I like it and it's different from what the other students are doing. I'm glad to see you two come together and work hard. I'm looking forward to seeing the final project," The teacher says, complimenting our idea.

With that, me and Samuel high-fived excitedly at the approval of our project. The rest of the period dragged on with Samuel writing down a more formal list of what we needed. Now that we knew what we were doing we could buy the proper things.

We both agreed to drive to my house this time since Samuel mentioned that his mom was home, and that she needed to sleep.

I gave Samuel my address and we both drove to my house in about 7 minutes. The whole drive there I could hear Samuel singing and blasting a song I couldn't quite make out.

Just before we turned the corner I hear the song on Samuel's radio change to a more familiar song. At the moment Samuel had all his windows down and I'm guessing his radio had a volume of 100.
