Chapter 42

"What???" Bulalas ko. Did he just told me he investigated me?

"Don't get me wrong. I just found out everything. Including your parents' killer. I know where they are." Bumundol ang kaba ko sa narinig kay Ha-Ru. So all this time he's meeting the girl because of me?

Why did he do that?

"I asked Harlene from Law building to introduce me to his family's private investigator. And we always meet him to talk about everything he found out."

"Ha-Ru, don't you ever do that again. Please don't do anything beyond that. I'm telling you." Banta ko. Because by doing that, he'll also be in danger. Those syndicate are the biggest syndicate here in Philippines. Aside from that, they have a lot of connections.

"Yeona, kung hindi pa kita pina imbestigahan, hindi ko malalaman na nanganganib ang buhay mo. They are targeting you. I-I can't lose you. I won't let that happen." Napasabunot siya sa buhok niya in frustration. He shouldn't have known this since the beginning.

Why is he so hard headed?

"Ha-Ru, please listen to me. Don't make unnecessary actions without telling me. Hindi basta-basta ang mga taong iyan. You can't stop them." I said.

He hugged me tight.

"I will do my best to protect you from them." He said without breaking the hug. Huminga ako ng malalim kasi hindi ko siya mapigilan.

"Yeona, have you seen Savana?" Nag-aalalang tanong ni Alejandro. He's panting and he looks really damn worried right now.

Medyo nakakalayo na kasi kami ni Ha-Ru and by the looks of him. He run towards us just to ask where Savana is.

"Wala ba siya sa tent namin? Maybe she just went out with the girls." I said calmly. Tinutukoy ko sina Karylle na ka-share namin sa tent.

"They said she just went out but until now she's not coming back yet. Nagtanong tanong din ako sa iba. They didn't see her." Napahilamos siya sa mukha niya.

Alejandro's expression now is not the usual him. Kaunti nalang ay magwawala na 'to kapag hindi niya pa nahanap si Savana.

Tumayo ako at sumunod naman si Ha-Ru.

"Let's find her." Sabi ko. I dialled her number at nag ri-ring naman ito.

"Yeona! I need you!" Sabi niya sa linya before the call ended.

"Sh*t!" Sabi ko at tumakbo. Bumalik ako sa tent namin at hinanap ang laptop ko.

Hingal na hingal na umabot sa kinaroroonan ko sina Alejandro at Ha-Ru.

I tracked Savana's location. She's still in this island.

"Let's go." Kinuha ko ang baril ko at isinuksok sa likod ng shorts na suot ko.

"Damn! What happened to her?" Nag-aalalang sabi ni Alejandro. Nakasunod lang sila sa akin. Nagtataka na din sina Felix, George at Enrique kaya naman ay sumunod na sila sa amin.

Sa baybayin kami dumaan sa bawat 10 meters kasi ay mayroong mga post ng lights. Kaya hindi gaanong madilim kahit gabi na.

"Aaaaah!" We heard Savana's scream kaya kahit pagod kami sa kakatakbo ay mas binilisan namin ang takbo. Nauuna si Alejandro at nakasunod na kami sa kanya.

We stopped near them. Napaupo ako habang habol-habol ang hininga. Mas nakakapagod pa kasing takbuhin kapag nasa baybayin kasi masyadong malambot ang mga buhangin. It consumed our strength hanggang sa mahanap namin si Savana.
