You sat in your hospital bed, waist and inner thighs bandaged from the burns you had endured, burns that would undoubtedly leave unsightly scars. You were still in shock by all the events, more than any other UA student. It seemed surreal that it was all over. Since your return, nothing felt the same.

It didn't help that as soon as you awoke you were questioned by police. You couldn't even get a break from it all. You had scared everybody to death. Your peers at UA, your teachers, your family, everyone that you knew.

Never in your life had you felt so scared and helpless. But now, you felt a variety of things. Confusion, anxiety, numbness, shame.

You didn't know how you were going to return to normalcy. You could hardly sleep at the hospital; every small noise jolted you awake. You could hardly eat; afraid of that burning, suffocating feeling the black warp-like matter had given you. You could hardly talk, not knowing what to say.

Not too long ago, Mr. Aizawa had visited your hospital room to drop off a letter. This was a letter informing all students that they will be moving into dorms so that the teachers can better protect them. You were unsure about moving into dorms if you were being honest. Would you be exposing yourself to more harm?

Clutching the letter in your hands, you put it down beside you once you had finished reading it.

"I have to live with those idiots now?! Ugh!" You heard an aggravated complaint next to you.

Bakugou was in your hospital room too, seated in a hospital bed next to yours. Even though he didn't suffer any major injuries, the doctors thought it was best to monitor him for a while to make sure his mental health was ok.

Having Bakugou in the room with you was somewhat comforting. You were forever grateful that he had managed to hold off 6 villains alone to protect you. Although despite protecting you then, he had hardly spoken a word to you thus far. It almost seemed as if he were avoiding you, yet you had no idea why.

The other thing that was tugging on your mind was the fact that All Might was now retired after his huge battle. What did this mean for society? He was a huge beacon of hope for you and was the reason you became a hero in the first place. Seeing him in such a weakened state shocked you that even he could be beaten. What was worse, was that it was all to save you. You couldn't help but think it was your fault.

You sighed as you took a sip of the glass of water that was sitting next to your bed. You tried to register the large dose of reality. Perhaps you had romanticised what being a hero was all about when the reality was, it was terrifying work. Much more terrifying than you had anticipated.

You glanced to your side to look at what Bakugou was up to, only to catch him also staring at you. As soon as he noticed you were staring back at him, he frowned and quickly darted his head to look in another direction, as if he wasn't staring at you.

Before you could say something to him, a doctor made his way into the room.

"Hello (y/n). I just came to check up on those burns if that's alright with you?" The doctor greeted.

"Yes that's fine." You said as the doctor took a seat next to your bed on a nearby chair.

"And how are you feeling (y/n)?" The doctor asked as he began to put on some gloves.

"I don't really know. I guess I'm still in shock about everything that's happened." You tried to explain.

Bakugou couldn't help but eavesdrop as he cautiously watched the doctor unravel the bandage on your waist. As Bakugou saw you wince in pain, he clenched his fist and deepened his frown as he continued to watch even more cautiously. Something about seeing your face in pain made him grow angry at the doctor.
