"Ok." Sara smiled thinly pressing her lips together shutting her eyes as she got on the elevator.

"Ok." Alex sighed one final time as Sara walked past her.

"This isn't gonna be a thing, right?" Sara asked her.

"Yeah. No, no, I'm--I'm ok. I'm good." Alex promised as the elevator doors shut. She turned away sighing to herself. But she wasn't out of the woods yet. Her sister walked into the hall two seconds later.

"Hey." Kara greeted. "I was looking for you."

"Hey." Alex breathed, seemingly out of breath.

"Are you ok?" Kara asked her in concern.

"Why does everybody ask me that question?" Alex threw out her arms in annoyance.

"Heh." Kara scrunched her nose up as she walked beside her sister. "Uh, well, you sort of look like you just killed someone's puppy."

"Uh, no. I'm--I'm fine." Alex denied. "It's just this whole thing with Sara was--" Alex swallowed, seemingly finally getting in some air. "God, it was a mistake."

"Heh! A mistake, but you came here to have fun at a wedding, and, um, ok, Nazi invaders aside, you--you had a good time, right? I mean I know I had a good time with Clarity. Some of the things she did put Mon El to shame."

"Gah, Kara, No. No details please. I am so proud of you for experimenting and everything really I am, but I mean, this--this was all kinds of wrong." Alex stressed. "Even as fun as it was.
Waking up with a strange woman in a strange bed, I have never had a one-night stand before."

"So?" Kara asked her crossing her arms. "I hadn't had one with a woman either before Clarity. Let me tell you, I won't go into detail, but it was like making love to a star. My friend has no business being that pretty. I wish my body could do what hers could, it was like she was this shimmering crystal and I was some dull rock."

"We got between two people who are supposed to be together. Do you realize that? Sara and Clarity....They were raising a child in some alternate reality and this whole thing has just, it's got me spinning, Kara. I mean, what--what if I made a huge mistake? What if we made huge mistakes? We're not from this earth maybe they were supposed to get together and us being here messed all of that up."

"No, Alex--" Kara denied shaking her head "Ok, no, no, no. Do you hear yourself? That's crazy talk. Whatever their reality was, it's not their reality now. You heard Sara back there. Whatever happened, it didn't happen to the current version of themselves, and if they are meant to be together, and that's a strong if because who knows if anyone is meant to be, I don't think that's the type of thing that is going to get destroyed over a night of fun with other people. Relax you didn't do anything wrong. The fact that Clarity has a kid doesn't make anything different."

"Kara kids change everything in a relationship. The very topic broke me and Maggie apart if hers could bring Sara and her together...what if.... I mean, look, I know I want to have kids,
but Maggie was real. I mean, what we had, that was real. And now, um, with everything, I just-- I chose to let her go. I chose that. I mean, what was I thinking? Maybe I should have tried harder to-."

"Alex, Maggie was amazing, and you two were amazing together, but the best part about her was that she showed you how to be true to yourself. You want kids. She doesn't. You--you just had to do what was right for you. End of story. Don't compare your relationship to anyone else's. Especially not one that hasn't even happened in this reality."

Sara's hands slid into her blonde hair as the elevator continued to descend. It felt like she'd been on it forever but she knew it wasn't true. The assassin rested her head back against the elevator wall. The doors having just shut on one of the most awkward conversations she had ever had in her life a few minutes prior. Sleeping with Alex Danvers was such a mistake.  She was okay, she was good, is what Alex had repeatedly insisted, but it was clear that she wasn't in the way she looked panicked now. Though Sara was hiding it well, her years as an assassin helping her keep her cool countenance, Sara was feeling the same. Worse even. She'd screwed up back there with Clarity's kid at the meeting. That explanation she'd given Alex, given everyone...why had she made it seem like she'd never be open to the idea again? The look on that child's face...Sara scrunched her eyes closed. She was so stupid. The look in Elicia's eyes wasn't what was haunting her thoughts though. It had been her mother's, her sweet pachirisu's, bright blue eyes. The way they'd dimmed...Sara'd crushed her as much as she crushed the kid. If what Caitlin told her was true...god she hoped she could make this right. Make up for all those wasted days, all the time they lost dancing around their love, if she could just find-
