"It's alright." Harry nodded at her, surprising Caitlin. As he usually got snippy when mistaken for Thawne. "It's not the first time that mix up has happened. I prefer it to the alternative. I'll be going anywhere that's not near Clarity or her kid. Don't want to make either of those two feel unsafe."
"Harry they were fine in the meeting." Caitlin protested. "You're fine."
"Yes, with others around. I'm going to check on Ramon." Harry told Caitlin walking off.
Caitlin sighed, shaking her head. "Speaking of checking, I should check on Clarity. See what's taking her so long."
"Is she okay?" Sara wondered, "I've been looking for her actually. Where is she?"
"It's anyone's guess. She was supposed to meet us in the lab, but she hasn't showed yet. She might've just lost track of time with her kid-"
"Elicia." Sara told her, with a nod.
"Hm?" Caitlin asked in confusion.
"Clarity's kid." Sara reiterated. "Her name is-it's Elicia."
"Oh, right, well Clarity said she was going to make sure someone would watch the kids and then she was going to get out of the flower girl monstrosity and into her supersuit, but it's taking her a while."
"Are all you team flash guys suiting up?" Sara raised an eyebrow, noticing Caitlin was wearing her own suit.
"When Thawne's in town, Yes." Caitlin replied, voice firm. The look in her eyes reminded Sara that it hadn't only been Clarity, Thawne had lied to and betrayed. "I'm going to check the kitchen, if I see her, I'll send her down to change. If you want to wait down there...or who knows she could be there already."
"Yeah, thanks, I'll do that." Sara nodded. "Clarity's lucky to have you as a friend you know."
"I know." Caitlin nodded in reply, "She's a good friend to have, if..that happens to be all you want her to be."
Sara was stunned into silence at Caitlin's words. Clarity was a good friend to have. But was that really all her and Clarity were going to be? After she basically said she didn't want to parent her kid with her Sara couldn't be sure, and she didn't want to get her hopes up either. She'd been so stupid trying to explain doomworld. She should have just said she was the kids dad. It wouldn't have been a lie, at one point in an alternate reality a version of herself had been her dad, but she herself had never made that call. Sara's hands rested in her back pockets and she paced in front of the elevator door. Thoughts of Clarity swirling in her mind. Wondering if she would even still want to be with her if she asked. That little question nagging at her more incessantly than it had in months. It's been such a long time since that damned date, since doomworld, all the days inbetween then and now felt like missed chances, wasted time. If she had just asked for Gideon that day would things be different? She was shaken out of her thoughts as the elevator door opened, Alex was inside the elevator, stepping off.
"Hey." Sara greeted the other woman who'd looked spaced out and in a rush.
Alex stopped abruptly spinning to face her. "Hey."
"How are you?" Sara asked hands rested back on her hips, elbows pointed outwards. She took a step towards her.
"Um, well, punching Nazis, that was definitely as satisfying as I imagined it would be.
It's..." Alex sighed with a shrug.
"You ok?" Sara asked her tilting her head.
"Yeah." Alex nodded in reply. "Oh, me? No. I'm-- I'm fi--I'm ok. I'm completely ok. I'm ok, ok?"
