July 16th

Dear Diary,

I have been thinking of something crazy.

I was sitting on my windowsill when there was a knock. I quickly looked over there to see Jack. I opened my window.

"Jack! What are you doing here?"

"I stopped by to say hello." He said, relaxing on the small balcony that I never use. I really wasn't allowed to.

"Well, hello. I mean, I don't want you to be caught here by my father. It won't end well. For both of us." I moved closer to him.

"Right. Then I'll go."

"Wait." I cut him off, "I've been thinking of something crazy."

"Yes?" He seemed more intrigued.

"I wanna run away."

Jack looked at me like I was crazy. "You-you want to run away? How? Won't your father catch you?"

"I don't care if he does. We can run away together. I bet my mother will let me. She can come visit us."

"But, where will you live? I mean, I guess you could come live with me, but that won't be any fun, will it?"

Then I remembered. We have a second house, which I found very convenient right now. "My mother has a second house, which was her childhood home. It's nice and big and she still owns it. I'll ask her about that, and if we can use it."

"That sounds great." Jack looked inside and said, "okay, I think I have to go now. I can hear someone walking up the stairs." He started to climb down the house.

"I'll see you later, Jack." I called. He winked at me and rode away. I closed my window as I heard my door creak open. It was my mother.

"Hey," she started. She sat on my bed, "did I hear you talking to someone in here?"

"Uhm, I was talking to Jack, but don't tell father. He decided to visit me."

"Aww, that was sweet of him. He's a really nice boy, you know that?" My mother said, lightly punching my shoulder.

"Of course I know." I chuckled.

We sat in silence for a few moments.

"Uhm, mother? Can I ask you something?" I said, sighing. She better say yes.

"Of course. What's up?"

"I want to run away. Well, I want to run away with Jack. Can we use your childhood home? I know you still own it. Don't you?"

She looked at me, but seemed confused. "You want to run away with Jack?" A smile was drawn across her face. "Of course I still own that house. I could give it to you. You know, put it in your ownership-."

I cut her off, "no! I don't want to own the house like you do. I- I just want to live there with you and Jack. I want us to be together, without father in our life. I know that sounds harsh, but he just is taking over my life and I want some freedom."

"Well, if you want to live with Jack and I, then I'll accept your offer. If you start to pack up your things this afternoon, then we can leave tomorrow and I'll just tell your father that we're going on a trip and that he can't stop me from taking you where I want."

I gave her a big hug. "Thank you, mother. You are the best."

"No, Jack is better than me. How about you go visit him?"

"I don't think that's a good idea now. I mean, I already told him the idea, so I'll meet him in the park tomorrow. That seems like the best choice."

"Alright, sweetie. You start packing up and we'll leave tomorrow." She gave me a kiss on the forehead and walked out.
