There was a rush. Chaos.

As Mia entered the hospital building, her heart was beating frantically and her mind was racing a thousand miles per second.

She passed through the hallways as I reflected upon what happened in the past 12 hours. And how she was back in Mumbai again.

First of all, Arnav had called. And Mia was most confused about him and his personality. He didn't talk with her and when he did he accused her of having an ulterior motive behind her marriage. She couldn't understand him.

And, she also didn't understand that why she was the first and only person to get informed about the accident Meera Ma, my mother-in-law, had been. She had fallen down the stairs and had incurred a head injury. And Arnav had called to inform her of that and asked if she can come back to Mumbai to help him and see her.

That was how she took down the first flight in the morning, from Delhi to Mumbai, called in sick in her college, and now traversing through the hallways to get to room no 302.

She saw Arnav sitting on the bench with his head on his hands, he was looking fallen. There's nothing Mia could do to change that. Mia approached him.

She was going to touch him but he already looked so tensed that Mia decided to call him on last second.

"Arnav." She called but he didn't listen so she tried again and this time he jumped in his seat looking at her with red fearful eyes. He looked terrified and absolutely vulnerable.

"You came." He said slowly, from the look of his eyes it was obvious that he was crying. They wer red, puffy and had dark circles around them. Mia was very uncomfortable as she didn't know the right words to comfort him but she didn't have to decide because Arnav decided for her as he threw his hands around her middle and hugged her. Mia was stunned by the act itself but she was more startled that he was showing his vulnerability in front of her. His shoulders were shaking as he cried, Mia stood there still for a moment Mia before gently rubbing his back to sooth him

He moved back when maybe he short of realised that he was hugging her, he rubbed his palm on his eyes to get rid of his tears. It was an awkward silence between the two of them before Mia asked, "How was Ma?"

Arnav took a deep breath before answering,"She was in the ICU, her surgery was complete but she hadn't woken up, yet. Doctors couldn't say anything, until she wake up."

Mia sat on the bench next to Arnav as she prayed to the god for the recovery of her Ma. "Everything will be okay. Ma will woke up soon." She tried to reassure herself.

He nodded but he bit his lip in the attempt to not burst into crying again. She was also in a state of shock, if the incident would have been registered fully she would be a mess too. She couldn't bear the thought of loosing a family member. It was too painful.

She stood up and went to the door of the ICU and peeked from the little gap, she could see Meera Ma lying on the bed attached to various instruments, a bandage on her head. She was ashen, probably due to the blood loss.

Mia was just standing there trying to process what was happening when the doctor came in to check Meera's condition.

"Is she Okay?" Mia asked hurriedly when doctor came out of the ICU. Arnav also stood up looking hopefully at the doctor.

"Her vitals are stable. But we have to wait for her to wake up to say certainly." The doctor replied.

Arnav slumped down the seat, sighing.

"Arnav?" Mia asked softly.

"Yes." He looked up.

"Why you only called me and not Aaron and Arav?" She inquired, it was the question that was bothering her since yesterday.

"Because they are already dealing with problems in business." A sudden hostility came over Arnav's features as he replied aggressively. He stood up and took angry strides towards Mia as she backed away into the wall. "If they knew about this, they will leave all the work behind. And it will lead to more loss. They don't have to be present when I am handling the situation, alright, by myself." Arnav's face was red in anger and all the traces of vulnerability gone as he looked at Mia bitterly.

"B-but they deserve to know." A sudden fear taking grip of Mia's heart at the look of indignation in Aaron's eyes. But she tried to stand her ground, failing miserably in it.

"They can't know! YOU. CAN'T. TELL. THEM!!" He punched the wall beside her head and Mia flinched. His nostrils are flaring and his knuckles were turning white with how tightly he was clenching them. He was staring at Mia with a look in his eyes that was saying that he will kill Mia if she didn't agreed to what he was saying, her heart was racing because for a second she really believed that he could hit her.

"Ok. Ok. I won't tell. I won't tell them." She spoke hurriedly, sweat was running down her forehead by the tension that was created.

She stood still through the support of the wall as she saw a emotionless mask took place on Arnav's face in a second as he backed away from her. Eyes wide and worried. She stared as he hurriedly disappeared down the hallway.

Mia's head hurt with only one thought revolving in it.

There was something so wrong.

This wasn't normal.
