“Regarding my seat in the library, please don’t arrange for Mo Zixin to sit next to me.”

Qian Wei was surprised: “Why? Didn’t you want to go to the library to run into Mo Zixin? I was even kind enough to put you two together. Do you know how hard it is to find a secluded table with only two seats in the library?”

Lu Xun glanced over at Qian Wei: “Who told you that I’m going to the library because I want to run into Mo Zixin?”

“Didn’t you say that you don’t need to go to the library to study? If you’re not there to see Mo Zixin, what are you doing in the library?”

“Sleeping.”

“Ah?”

Lu Xun frowned: “Recently the dormitory is a little too hot and my roommates who like to play cards are a little noisy. By comparison, the library is air-conditioned and quiet, it’s very suitable for sleeping.”

“…”

“So, I don’t want anyone else to disturb my naps.”

“You can just sleep, it’s fine. Mo Zixin is very quiet every time she comes to the library. How could she bother you?” Qian Wei comforted him, “You don’t have to feel embarrassed to sleep in front of Mo Zixin. After all, even if you are sleeping, it still counts as appearing in front of her, which will increase your sense of existence in her heart. Besides, sometimes a man and woman sitting quietly together in the library can create some ambiguous feelings.”

Qian Wei admired Lu Xun in her heart silently. Lu Xun, ah~, Lu Xun, it was really predictable that you never caught Mo Zixin or got married even when you were 30 years old. This result was clearly entirely based on your strength.

When Qian Wei and Lu Xun finally returned to the cabin, Qian Chuan and Liu Shiyun were still fast asleep.

“Remember to apply the medicine.” Lu Xun threw the bag of medicine he was carrying to Qian Wei, then opened the door and went inside. Qian Wei also crept upstairs and then hurriedly put on the medicine. After that, she lay down on the bed to get some sleep.

But she didn’t sleep for long before it was time to get up again.

“I want to visit as many attractions in the forest park as I can!” Liu Shiyun got up early to study the tourism pamphlet that advertised the attractions in the forest park. “Horse riding and the forest train sound fun. There’s also rock climbing, bungee jumping, and rope skiing which are very challenging. Oh, and there are so many water events. There’s rafting and diving. What if I don’t want to miss any of them!”

Compared with Liu Shiyun’s passion, Qian Wei was much less energetic. After applying the ointment, her rash seemed to have settled down, but her serious lack of sleep made her not feel much interest in anything.

“Let’s go to the rapids first! This rafting attraction is highly recommended. It’s said to be very exciting and fun.”

Unlike yesterday when everyone wandered along in the theme park, today’s activities were scheduled to be carried out by large groups. Qian Wei had no problems with the idea. She was ready to go rafting with everyone.

Along the way, Qian Chuan was in high spirits and he spent all his time telling Mo Zixin all kinds of jokes and stories that made her laugh again and again.

“Speaking of which, I had a strange dream last night where Qian Wei was knocking on the door shouting about a crackdown on pornography and illegal activities, and then she called Lu Xun out. Later, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw that Lu Xun was really gone! Because I drank too much I couldn’t fall asleep after waking up but even after waiting a while, I didn’t see Lu Xun come back at all. Eventually, I couldn’t help falling back asleep. Then, when I woke up, he was back.” Qian Chuan smiled and looked over at Lu Xun. “You look pretty tired, did you not sleep well? Did you go somewhere in the middle of the night?”

Lu Xun’s expression was calm and his voice was steady: “You’re asking where I went? You should ask Qian Wei. Wasn’t I cooperating with her in the fight against pornography?”

Qian Wei felt a little nervous. Even though she and Lu Xun did not do anything it was undeniably very suspicious for a single man and woman to go out together in the middle of the night. Qian Wei was afraid that Mo Zixin might misunderstand and she felt really frustrated inside. Lu Xun, this guy, didn’t he know what a white lie was? Did he always have to tell the truth?

However, to her surprise, Qian Chuan laughed when he heard Lu Xun’s answer: “I was just kidding. How could you go out alone with Qian Wei in the middle of the night? It’s not like I’m looking down on Qian Wei but she is not charming enough to wake a man from his bed and drag him out in the middle of the night.” Qian Chuan smiled at Qian Wei, with a face that looked like it wanted to be taught a lesson. “I don’t know when she will finally find a boyfriend so she can let me go and enslave him instead.” With his tone, it sounded as if she couldn’t find a boyfriend!

Qian Wei was furious and if Mo Zixin wasn’t there she would have started bragging on the spot. I, your big aunt, not only woke Lu Xun up from bed in the middle of the night but also dragged him out to accompany me to the hospital. You better believe it! This is the proof of I, your big aunt’s, personality and charm!

“Alright, everybody put on your life jackets and then get on your inflatable raft.”

Fortunately, the group finally arrived at the starting point of the rafting attraction. Qian Wei put on her life jacket while everyone was being divided into the two different rafts. Eventually they all set out with a pleasant and chatty atmosphere.

Qian Wei, Qian Chuan, Liu Shiyun, Mo Zixin, and Lu Xun were all on one raft. With a gentle nudge, the rubber raft set out. This was a highly recommended attraction in the forest park because the view as the rafts drifted down the river beautifully showcased the land. The green vegetation was dense and the birds could be heard twittering in the distance.

Unfortunately, although the scenery was good, Liu Shiyun was very disappointed. She was only interested in more exciting attractions: “Didn’t the pamphlet say this is the most exciting attraction? Why is the current so gentle? We’re barely even drifting, this is more like floating.”

“Lord Ye really loves dragons.*” Qian Chuan snorted coldly, “Don’t forget how you were clinging to me when we were in the haunted house. If this rafting was really any sort of exciting, you might be crying and screaming again.”

Qian Wei thought that the contradiction between Qian Chuan and Liu Shiyun must really be huge. Even though Mo Zixin was present, Qian Chuan temporarily put down his efforts to pursue her to quarrel with Liu Shiyun, which really showed the depths of their ‘feelings’.

“Water! There’s a lot of water!”

Mo Zixin’s loud exclamation snapped Qian Chuan out of his quarrel with Liu Shiyun. He followed Mo Zixin’s line of sight and yelled: “Shit!” He looked over and glared at Liu Shiyun. “Here’s the thrill you wanted. This old raft is leaking!”

“Scoop the water out quickly!”

Who knows who shouted but soon everyone began trying to bail out the water with their hands. Fortunately, the leak in the raft wasn’t that big and after a while the water had all been bailed out.

“But we still have a long way to go. We can’t scoop the water out like this the whole way. If we ever don’t have enough time to scoop out the water, won’t we sink? And who knows how deep the water is further down the river.”

Someone shouted, “But we’re in the middle of the river right now, we can’t get to the shore!”

“The leak is very small.” Lu Xun’s voice was very calm. He observed and analyzed. “It’s small enough to be blocked with a hand but the position of the leak makes it so there is a gap that will stop a hand from being able to completely block the hole.”

Liu Shiyun, who had just been looking forward to some excitement, suddenly seemed very nervous: “I can’t swim! What should I do! I’m so beautiful, I’m too young to die! Qian Wei, can you swim?”

*this Chinese idiom (叶公好龙) basically means that someone pretends to like things but doesn’t actually like them. (i.e LSY ‘likes’ scary things but not really is what Qian Chaun is saying). The story behind the idiom goes vaguely like this – Lord Ye told everyone he loved dragons and had a bunch of paintings and carvings of dragons, then one day a real dragon showed up and Lord Ye got scared and ran away, showing that he didn’t actually love dragons.
