"Devastating loss of life, unimaginable cruelty & a complete disregard for life."

Those were the words that blasted across the morning newspaper. Picking up the newspaper off the front porch, your eyes quickly scanned the ominous cover story.

Your fists clenched the papers, causing your nails to dig in and cause micro tears at the side. But you were too preoccupied with the news of tragedy.

Over 200 people were killed in a mindless massacre by only 5 curses. As expected, the ordinary people stood no chance. But the jujutsu sorcerers that were dispatched by the authorities only managed to kill 2 of the curses. All of this, transpired only 20 minutes away from your hometown.

Rushing up the stairs and into your room, you frantically rummaged through your desk to find a quill and a paper. Still standing and panting, you began writing a letter to enquire about the well-being of your loved ones back at home.

You were especially worried about Old man Katsura and his wife. They were fragile, naive and never understood how exponentially dangerous the world became everyday. Next, your addressed letters to your fellow jujutsu sorcerers.

This is when you began to notice that your hand was quivering. Sorcerers are well trained, no way they couldn't handle 5 curses. Right...?

A shiver ran down your spine thinking about the strength of the curses that your colleagues must've encountered. Shaking those feelings away, you hastily put on your shoes and ran into the garden.

One of the guards at the door approached you, "Ma'am you're not allowed to leave the estate, for your safety."

"Well then, come with me," with that, you grabbed the guard by the elbow and began running down the hill.

You didn't stop until you reached the post office, not even when the guard complained about a cramp in his foot nor when you found yourself gasping for air.

But a breath of relief left you once the letters were posted. And you and guard slowly made your way up to the estate. Well technically he was limping behind you, but that didn't matter right now.

As you were walking, you noticed that your hair and clothes were damp from the rain. Little pieces of your hair stuck to your face and the fabric of your dress cling to your body.

Extending your hand out, you let the rainwater pool in your palm. In the hurried panic of this morning, you didn't notice how heavily it was drizzling.

And by the time you entered the mansion, you found yourself coughing slightly and feeling feverish. The attendants approached you quickly with towels and led you to your room.

***

The fever creeped up on your slowly at first, and then all at once. Within a few hours, even the thickest blanket in the house didn't stop the chills. You were so cold but your body was producing so much heat. Snuggling further in your blanket, you lost yourself to sleep and fatigue.

Every 2 hours or so, you'd wake up to eat porridge, some steamed vegetables and fish served by Miwa herself. During this time, you'd also see your attendants frantically try to find you a doctor who can get here as soon as possible.

Everyone was thinking it but no one said it out loud. Sometimes fevers are not just fevers, it could be the scarlet fever, typhoid or even worse. Which is why getting a healer denotes top priority, but not a lot of healers live on this remote mountain. Well, except for one maybe.

"Where is Lord Sukuna?" You heard one of the attendants whisper before being hushed by her peer.

You had to stifle the urge to chuckle; why would he care that I have a fever? He would probably say I deserved it for going out in the rain.

"Don't worry everyone, I'll be fine. I promise," you smiled kindly and dismissed everyone. You told them to leave your next meal outside the door, just in case.

Sleep took over you once again. This time you dreamt of happy memories back home, a time before the apocalypse of the curses and summer time in the rice fields. Then you began dreaming about Sukuna, his retreating back, his hand grazing your cheek, his cunning laugh...

Your eyes fluttered open once again and standing over you was Sukuna himself. Your eyes met his and you tried to search for even an ounce of empathy, but he was emotionless, bored and nonchalant. A pang of disappointment resonated within your chest for reasons you didn't comprehend.

His hand reached out and his fingers lightly tapped your forehead. They were cold against your blazing skin. His fingers lingered for a few more seconds. It felt nice.

Without a word, he climbed into your bed and straddled himself on top of you. You saw his hands rummaging with the belt of his Yukata, loosening it and exposing his tattooed skin.

"Your body is hot, I wonder how it'll feel once I'm inside," he said in a low tone.

If you weren't so tired, your heart might have been beating out of his chest. But you were too tired, and the closeness of his body felt nice. It reminded of you cuddling with someone you love. Which was something you missed so desperately since you came here.

Perhaps this was the only intimacy you'd get from now on. As depressing as that was, you pushed that thought all the way to the back and let Sukuna take control.

He kissed you so slowly and endearingly that you thought you were dreaming; you pinched the side of your waist just to reassure yourself that this is reality.

He stopped to remove your kimono, you watched in nervous anticipation and unknowingly tensed your shoulders. Once it was off, you were wearing nothing inside and he pressed his bare body against yours. His cool skin began absorbing some of your heat, creating relief and calmness for you.

The rain was pattering softly on the windows outside. Sukuna embraced your scorching body even more closely against his. You also let your hands rest on his broad back, clinging onto him loosely.

You felt him hardening underneath the blanket, against your cl!t. When he began moving back and forth, stimulating every sensitive nerve in you, you couldn't help but whimper softly.

Your nails on his back dug into his skin as he entered but it was not painful, just something new.

"Fuck, I've never felt something like this before," he whispered, more so to himself.

With a slow, steady rocking motion both of you were ready to finish within the next 5 minutes.

This was not the type of sex two strangers who only met a few weeks ago could have. The gentleness of his touch should be impossible for someone who takes innocent lives. And the feelings of sensuality and submission in your eyes, something which drove Sukuna crazy as he was on top of you, should not have occurred when he is the reason you lost your freedom.

If only he wasn't Sukuna, if he was anyone else, I would've fallen in love. You thought to yourself as you saw Sukuna climb out of the bed and put on his Yukata.

He turned to meet your eyes once again and said, "I healed you by the way, you should feel less fatigued in an hour or two."

Before you could respond, rapid knocking ensued on bedroom door.

"What is it?" Sukuna yelled out in an annoying tone.

"My lord, we are under attack!"

Guess there won't be much time to recover after all.
