As Sukuna drove up the mountain with you in the passenger seat, he seemed to be in a good mood. It was quite the juxtaposition against your moody demeanour. He hummed his little tunes, with one hand on the steering wheel and the other supporting his head as he leaned against the car window. It was almost as if he didn't even utter the words "I don't care about you and I never will" just five minutes ago at the market.

But what can you expect from a curse? They don't have the same empathic capabilities as humans do. And somehow, his humming and carefree attitude helped you numb the pain you were experiencing from the failed escape attempt.

So leaning back into your seat, you zoned out and looked at the valley and all of its beautiful, lush greenery. A dove began soaring freely around the vehicle as you ascended towards the estate.

You couldn't help but bitterly chuckle at the irony of your situation. A bird, the ultimate symbol of freedom taking flight just as your freedom was snatched away.

And to make matters worse, a dove? The Amulet of the Dove was the reason you are in this mess in the first place. So lost within these thoughts, you didn't even realize when the car came to a halt in front of the estate.

Getting out of the car, Sukuna walked to your side of the window and lightly knocked. Upon hearing this knock, you instinctively lowered the car window in alarm.

Bending down to your level, he rested his arm against the top of the car door and leaned forward, "Don't tell the old Shajan that you went out on your own. I'll tell her we went for a drive."

You nodded, finally understanding that you had to get out of the car. And while you were releasing your seat belt, Sukuna's hand suddenly grabbed your face. Slowly, he wiped away a drop of tear from your left eye.

You didn't even know that you cried a little. In that moment however, you were shocked at how gentle his touch felt; tender even. Back at the market when he held your face, you felt like death himself had caressed your cheek. But this was different.

He opened the car door and closed it behind you after you got out. In his usual fashion, he walked a step ahead of you and you followed behind in his shadow.

Upon entering the estate, the old shaman came running out from the kitchen, huffing and puffing in anger. She looked at you as if you had just committed the most heinous crime imaginable, and you saw her mouth open to yell at you. But her infuriation dissolved as soon she saw Sukuna standing next to you; she slowly lowered her head in reverence, "My Lord."

"Did you know that my wife likes tangerines?" He asked, in a rather casual tone.

The old shaman looked up in confusion and hesitantly admitted, "No Lord, I did not."

"That's a shame," he noted, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly. Just then, two fearful attendants pulled you away and began dragging you upstairs.

But as you were walking away with your attendants, you heard Sukuna warning the old lady in a low voice, "Remember that you're serving her, not the other way around." She was left petrified.

***

With the overwhelming amount of grief you were experiencing, the only thing you could do was take a lengthy nap. When you woke up, the sky had completely turned black and cloudless.

You guessed the time to be about 9:00pm, which meant that you'd be called down for dinner shortly. So you begrudingly pushed away your sheets and climbed out of your bed, lighting a few candles here and there.

But before going to the dining hall, you decided it would be best to take a bath. So entering the bathroom, you decided to light the fire underneath the wooden tub and run the bath yourself, even though the attendants wanted to do it for you.

You politely declined and told them to take the rest of the night off. You couldn't help but feel bad for them; all they did was follow you around and finish every single task for you.

While the water was heating however, they ran to the garden and fetched rose-petals for the bath. This sudden act of kindness almost made you brust in tears, but you held it in until they were gone.

And so, you soaked in the comforting warmth of the hot-tub and deeply inhaled the sweet scent of roses. Resting your arms and head on the edge of the tub, you thought about how there may be no escape after all.

But you were done moping around.

If you were meant to take on the burden of being Sukuna's wife, you were going to face it with the utmost courage. He's profoundly evil, but that didn't mean you had to submit to his will.

Besides, he needs me more than I need him, you thought to yourself. Because it simply doesn't make sense for Sukuna to be so interested in a mere human like you. In some way, shape or form, you hold the key to Sukuna's reign as the provincial lord. If you hadn't been so imperative to his goals, he would've killed you a long time ago.

"I wonder why I'm so important to him," you whispered to yourself as you got out of the tub and began drying yourself, "the curiosity is killing." But you didn't ponder on it further and instead slipped into the lacey, white nightgown the attendants laid for you.

Glancing at the mirror however, you were shocked at how skimpy the nightgown was. The straps were as thin as noodles and the material was incredibly fine so it highlighted the shape of your breasts and nipples. Maybe they thought I was going to straight to bed...

So you exited the bathroom, in hopes of finding a more appropriate dress for dinner. But before you could reach your closet, you saw Sukuna resting peacefully on your bed. His eyes were tightly shut and his arms were crossed above his head; it didn't look like he was going to wake up anytime soon.

But you leaned in closer to confirm. In doing so, you couldn't help but notice how the few candles you had lit earlier illuminated his chiseled face.

You leaned in further but you were immediately grabbed by the waist and thrown on the bed.

Sukuna hovered over you, pinning your arms against the mattress. Suddenly you became very aware of your chest, which was covered only by the thinnest fabric on earth. You slid your hands towards your chest in hopes of shielding them from Sukuna's piercing gaze, but this just made him stare harder. He pulled your arms away and pinned them tighter.

His fiery eyes glistened in the darkness. Bringing his face closer, he coldly asked,"You thought you'd go unpunished after trying to run away from me?"

A/N: GUYS WAIT FOR PT.2, IT'S GOING TO GET A LOT MORE SPICIER ;))

my exams are ending this week, so expect more updates soon! Also note that this story takes place in the 1920's, hence why a spaghetti strapped slip dress would be considered scandalous. (Cred @suu_a_maa on Twitter for the pic below)
