A Curse of Luck (A kidnapped story) (15) Part 1

Start from the beginning

"Well no, but I had to ask." Then another thought pops into my head. "Who's Calder?"

"Oh well he's the Captain of this ship, he was the guy that helped us back at the bar. He has the long black hair."

"Oh right (so I did guess right, on who he was) so you were able to persuade him to help us, how did you manage that?"

He seems a bit hesitant to tell me, or maybe he's debating whether to tell me the whole truth.

"Yeah well it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. He seemed willing to help knowing that I'm demon. I guess he sees me as part of a brotherhood type of thing".

I have a tiny feeling he's leaving something out, but I guess his explanation makes sense enough. Plus I was just glad to be away from that auction house, and extremely crazy stranger guy that tried to take me.

{"Whitney do not worry, I will come for you, and you will understand more in time."}

Which believe me I didn't forget about, but since I don't want to faint again, I'll try not to worry too much about it. I'm away from him now; I'll be back in my own world before he even has a chance to find me. I have to believe this.

"Whitney, Whitney are you okay?"

Will snapped me from my thoughts, god I need to stop spacing out like that.

"No I'm fine sorry, just thinking."

"Do you want to tell me what you're thinking about? He's staring straight at me hoping for an answer.

"No, I mean it's nothing, I just.... it's nothing." I look down and start playing with my fingers.

"Are you sure, you know you can talk to me, about anything."

"No I'm fine really, It's just a lot has happened in such a short amount of time. It's just kind hard to believe is all." I release a big sigh as I say this.

"Hmm, I guess you're right, a lot has happened, but we'll get through this, and will be back home before you know it." He leans over and pats my shoulder. "Right?"

"Right." I give him a small smile. He always seems to know exactly what to say to reassure me. Then a yawn escapes my mouth. I cover my mouth trying to keep it in.

I don't understand why I'm still tired after sleeping the whole day away, but I'm sure the stress just got to me warring me out.

"We should go back to sleep." His hand that was still on my shoulder traveled up to my forehead and he pressed it there. What the heck is he doing, he's quite close.

"You still feel a little warm." He removed his hand, and bent down to the floor where a small bucket of water was, he grabs the rag that fell from my head onto the bed, and dips it into the water.

"Lay back." He demands. I did as he said and got settled back on the bed. He leans down and brushes some hair from my face, and places the rag on my head very gently.

I can't help, but close my eyes it feels really good.

I feel him pull the covers around me more. I feel like a little kid getting tucked in for bed. But it's very soothing, and Will is being so kind and caring toward me.

I have to be careful not to get too attached to him. I reopen my eyes, and he is staring back into mine.

"Get some sleep okay" he whispers,

"Yeah okay, good night." I whisper back.

"Good night." He backs up and falls onto his bed getting under the cover and settles down. But not before blowing out the candle.
