She touched her mother's feet, but her mother hugged her instead after she put the plate away. And it was exactly a motherly hug, warm and safe. Her mother smelled angelic and pure. But Mia felt like this hug was not for her but for the people. If she could forget what happened she would just so she can feel loved once again by her mother and enjoy her mother's embrace.

Tears welled up in her eyes and everyone thought this was because she was meeting her mother after a long time.

"I missed you too, beta." Her mother dried her tears and Mia wobbly smiled. "Look at you, your wedding glow hasn't left you, yet. You are looking gorgeous. Don't ruin it with tears." She said to her. Before turning to Aaron, "Come sit, Beta. Sorry for all this trouble, but you were coming here the first time after the wedding. So everyone wanted to meet you. I hope you don't mind."

"No ma'am, it's fine," Aaron replied. Mia looked at Aaron, she had been in his place before between all these people whom you didn't know. And they are your family, now. But she knew that Aaron would handle the situation much better than she did.

"Call me mother, Son. You are now a part of our family."

"Okay, Ma." Aaron replied with a smile but his eyes held concern for Mia. Mia smiled a reassuring smile, she can handle this.

They entered the house. They sat on the sofa and everyone sat around them, crowding them. Some wanted to take a glimpse of the groom and those who did were awestruck. Aunties were whispering to each other about how handsome the groom was.

Yeah, he is handsome and he is mine. Mia thought in jealousy as all the ladies just gushed about grooms look. After some time they started teasing them which was way worse.

"Look how handsome damadji is Mia, you are a lucky girl." Someone said and everyone giggled.

She was also angry because these people were talking about her Aaron in such a manner. She looked at Aaron apologetically and he shrugged. Her mother performed some more newlywed rituals. After exchanging pleasantries and greetings with most of the guests, and answering their questions her mother sent them off to her room to freshen up.

"I am sorry about that," Mia said after closing the door. Their luggage was already in their room.

"There is no need to apologize to me. I quite enjoyed the conversation. It was different and I will prefer it to our gatherings anytime." Aaron removed his suit and Mia started helping him unbuttoning his shirt. It was a need to be close to him for comfort.

"I bet you are enjoying the female attention. They were shamelessly gawking at you. How could they? And how could you? They are twice your age, Aaron. It's gross."

"Are you jealous wife? Because it's almost cute." Mia was unbuttoning the last button when Aaron held her hands and it caused Mia to look up.

"I didn't like that." Mia blurted out. Her emotions were a mess, jumbled between her jealousy and her insecurities.

"Don't worry, Love. I am only yours and I am all yours." Aaron tried to shift her mind from all of this. Aaron removed his shirt and winked at her causing Mia to turn red. She mumbled out something incomprehensible and hugged Aaron, resting her head on his naked chest as he held her close.

They let the moment settle in silence before separating from each other.

"So, this is your room." Aaron inspected the beige color-painted walls and the bed in the middle with dark brown dressers on both sides and a light brown flooring beneath their feet. A sofa tucked against the wall on the right side of the bed. The walls are covered with small selves and photo frames. The room was small but it has a modern touch. The while house was based on the Modern Duplex theme.
