"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Jax grumbled shaking Steins hand off his shoulder sitting down in his seat. Still upset about the retirement. Not to mention he'd been right about to ask Roxie out but Stein had interrupted.
Kara took to the podium as the musicians started playing. At the back of the church Clarity took a deep breath doing her best to keep herself calm, a basket filled with red and yellow petals dangling off her arm. Though really she just felt like throwing up as her stomach twisted. Why did she ever agree to this again? Everyone was going to be watching her. All their friends and family. Well, Barry and Iris's family, but Barry's friends were really all her friends and now she was really getting anxious. What if she tripped and the petals all poured out into a pile? What if she threw a petal and it blinded someone? What if she messed up and ruined Iris's whole entrance?
"Clarity, are you alright?" Iris asked as she lined up behind her. Her Dad busy buttoning his suit.
"Huh, oh yeah. I'm fine." Clarity replied with a slight nod. "Why do you ask?"
"You look like your going to hurl and I don't want to be stepping over puke or trailing this dress through any." Iris replied. "I hope that's not the look that's gonna be on your face for the wedding photos either."
"Sorry, it won't be. I just...I didn't realize you invited so many people." Clarity ran her fingers through the petals though their softness did nothing to soothe her. "It's a big crowd. I don't," Clarity gulped. "I've never exactly done well in front of those."
"Your in front of crowds all the time as Glitch." Iris protested. "You'll do fine."
"When I'm out there as Glitch I have my mask, or when I'm time traveling and I don't wear it, I'm never gonna see those people ever again so it doesn't really matter, but Uh here... everyone's going to be watching me."
"It's sweet of you to worry about what everyone is going to think of your waltz down my aisle but don't. All your providing with your performance is ambiance." Iris replied. "Your setting the stage for the main event. They came here to see me and Barry. Not you. No one is going to care what the flower girl does. Everyone's eyes are going to be on the bride." Iris gestured to herself. "You don't matter here. If anything people will be eyeing the petals, all they care about are the flowers." Iris rested her hands on Claritys shoulders. "Nobody cares about the flower girl, not a single person. Now go. Don't miss your cue!"
Clarity gulped and forced a smile as Iris pushed her forwards making her stumble. Not finding any of Iris's words even the slightest bit encouraging. If anything they felt threatening, as if Iris was telling her not to upstage her at her own wedding. Like Clarity even thought that she could or even would do that. After all she was wearing beige of all colors. No one could upstage anything in boring old beige. The disgusting color was doing nothing to help her mood either.
"Can't say how the days will unfold." Kara started to sing Barry's proposal song. Clarity made her way into the church, her heeled feet hitting the red carpet in a nervous flutter, gliding elegantly down the aisle with the grace of a butterfly that was indecisive on whether to land or keep on flying.
"Can't change what the Future may hold. But I want you in it. Every hour, every minute." Kara sung, reciting the lyrics. Clarity threw up red and yellow flower petals as she went passing rows by, blue sparks mixing with the handfuls of petals that sailed through the air. Adding a little pizzazz to each throw. The red petals changing to yellow and yellow to red when sparks would collide with them. The petals sprayed in a special chemical that made them heat reactive. Cisco having coated them in an additional special spray so her sparks wouldn't burn the petals away but the coating atop them. The smell of Iris's wafting through the church. Almost everyone was staring at the flower petals being thrown, just as Iris had assured Clarity, except one person had their eyes transfixed on the Glitch. That person was Sara Lance.
