"Coffee?" Kara prodded her.
"As long as it's not Jitters. Do you have jitters on this earth? I hope not. I'm boycotting them until I get a coffee named after me." Clarity replied. Kara wrapped her arm around Claritys waist, Clarity magnetizing herself to Kara's side so she wouldn't fall the kryptonian taking off into the sky.
"I'll make you some at my place. My sister'll meet up with us there after work. We had plans to hang out but more girls for girls night the better. Sorry I haven't given you an answer the time zone problems just yikes. Sometimes there's a 24 hour difference. I've missed you, it's nice to have a super girl friend to chat to."
"I'm sure Mon El said that all the time." Clarity laughed.
"It's more like he has a super wife these days and it's not me." Kara replied. Claritys mouth dropped and she looked at the kryptonian in pure confusion.
"Wait what?" Clarity asked in surprise. "He's alive and and just what?"
"Yeah, it's a long story." Kara sighed. "We need to catch up."
True to Kara's word, Alex did show up a little while later that night. Clarity and Kara previously catching each other up on everything going on in their lives. Nothing seemed to be going very well for either of them.
"So, Mon-El just showed up like nothing was wrong?" Kara asked her sister, who sat on her left Clarity sitting on the couch arm on the right. Kara leaning against Claritys legs.
"The nerve of that guy." Clarity shook her head. "I know what working with your ex boyfriend is like and Ugh, don't even get me started on mine. That's just a whole thing."
"I think he was just trying to make things seem normal." Alex replied matter o factly sipping her wine.
"Normal?" Kara demanded. "The man I love, and thought was dead, is alive. And every night I'd make up all these scenarios of how I'd see him again and now he's actually here, but, guess what? He's married." Kara sighed.
"At least you didn't suck the life out of him." Clarity rubbed Kara's leg. "or kill him so now his new fiancé is out to kill you. Things could be way worse."
Kara scoffed biting at her finger. "Wish I had. Then I wouldn't have to see him with her...it all wouldn't hurt so bad. I'm sorry, I shouldn't be complaining. I know you're still dealing with the pain of Maggie," She looked to her sister and then to Clarity, "And I mean you lost a daughter you never had or got know, your friends in jail, your ex is dead, your childhood tormentor might be out to get you and your mom is dead now too? I mean and here I am complaining about some boy."
"Geez." Alex remarked. "Well, At least, we have each other." Alex pointed out leaning over to hug her sister. "And misery loves company."
"God, that's depressing." Kara remarked.
"Mmm-hmm." Alex hummed. "Yep. And on that note, I'm gonna get another drink." She sauntered over to the counter only to see the wedding invite for Barry's wedding. "Hey. What's this?"
"Oh, wedding invitation." Kara waved a hand.
"Ugh, I still have to finish that damn dress." Clarity groaned fingers already aching from the hours of hand stitching and sewing that were yet to come.
"Your still making her dress!?" Kara asked. "Clarity, your mom just died."
"Yeah, I know that's why it's not finished yet, but I can't just bail, they're depending on me. I won't be the reason Iris West leaves Barry Allen standing at the alter because she doesn't have a dress to wear."
