your eyes

13 3 6

for every time we crafted planes and

childishly watched them soar

weaving through shelves high

the sun glaring so bright,

its rays diffusing through the

vast panes and onto smiling faces.

you never really knew me, neither i did you.

but those eyes

ones i never got lost in

but ones that rather hauntedly

pervaded my mind. murky yet light

adorned with a playful glint

or clouded with painful despair

the greens and greys that

swirled away

into darkness

for every time we listened to

your carefully placed notes,

tunes ringing through the air

shadowed by a random thought

that blossomed into a deep discussion

when you jokingly termed me

and the name stuck tight.

trails of joy and laughter in your step

enthusiasm pictured in raised

cheeks and painted freckles.

we talked, and bonded every once in a while

but those eyes

ones that made me undo

the fibres of my imagination

so to fit the teal clouds

that were so uncannily familiar.

darkened by anger

shocked by passion

and ever changing

just like you.
