(Not a trigger warning but there's a Supernatural reference in here.)

John

Mars sighs loudly in the chair next to me, annoyed.

"Aren't you supposed to keep us separated?" She asks, looking right at the one-way glass. "John might convince me to keep my mouth shut."

I chuckle, "It's a small town, Mars. They don't really have anywhere else to put us."

We were in the police station's only interrogation room. We were no longer cuffed, but the door is locked, so it's not like we could go anywhere. "Are we being charged with anything?"

"I'm being charged with assault and battery." That was nothing new. The new part was that I actually didn't do it this time.

Angelica and Eliza were full of shit. They couldn't have proof. I've been in Mars' room all week. I literally have not left her side. I'm surprised she's not sick of me, yet, considering I have given her zero personal space.

I'm clingy. There's not another excuse.

"Yeah, but you didn't do it. What kind of proof could they have?" I groan, resting my head on her shoulder. "Have you made your phone call, yet?"

I shake my head. "No. Is your dad coming?"

She nods. "I told him that you didn't do it."

"Did he believe you?"

"Angelica got to him before I did."

Fuck. "So, I'm guessing he doesn't like me much anymore?"

She picks at her nails, "He doesn't think Angelica's capable of lying to him. And, Eliza backed her, so, he doesn't like either of us at the moment."

"I thought you were his favorite."

"Just because I am the baby does not mean that I am the favorite." I shrug. "Which one of your siblings is your favorite?"

"I don't have a favorite." I loved them all equally. She raises her eyebrow at me. "Okay, James." She snorts, murmuring something along the lines of how she already knew that. "But, only because he's an angel and he has my entire heart."

"I knew it. I just wanted to see if you would admit it."

"But, I do love them all."

"I know. You're a good dad." I snort. She wasn't wrong. "Do they ever call you dad? Like, do they slip up and forget?"

"Mary does. 'Cuz she's so little. Especially during breaks when I'm home a lot. Her first word was papa, and she wasn't talking to our father. It absolutely pisses my dad off every time she does it. But, she's little. She forgets that I'm not actually her dad sometimes."

"You're going to be such a good dad, you know, to your own kids."

"You think so?" I ask, softly. I guess I would be. I hadn't put too much thought into it. Honestly, before I met Mars, I didn't think I'd live past college. I couldn't see what my life would be like. But, I can see it now. I want to spend the rest of my life with her.

I'm going to propose after we graduate, but we won't even think about getting married until we graduate college. And, whenever she's ready, we'll have kids. I wonder how many she wants. I only want two at the most. I'll probably still be raising my siblings and that's plenty of kids for me.

"Yeah. I think you'll be even better than you are now. Our kids are going to be very lucky."

I smile, feeling my cheeks heat up. "You want to have my babies, Mars?"
