trigger warning: smut that's hinted at! (just female-receiving oral. I didn't feel like writing it, so technically the actual act isn't here, but they reference it!) Um... swearing, sexual harassment, violence, and tv show references!

Translation: There's a little Spanish in here! I'm almost fluent and I wrote it from memory. John tells Peggy she's the angel in his life and she's the most beautiful girl in the world and he thanks God for her every night.

John

❝John, what's the answer to number five?❞

I look down at my Calculus homework. I wrote a question mark where the answer should be. "Uh," I snort, "Fuck if I know."

I look across the room where Mars is sitting at my desk. She groans and drops her head against the wood. Mood.

I stayed in the hospital two weeks before they discharged me. Apparently, I had an infection that needed to be cleared. It wasn't fun.

But, coming back to school hasn't been as miserable as I thought it'd be. It's been quiet since Mars told me what Alex said. I still don't know why Alex would say that about me. I don't understand how he could go along with it and then spread it when he knows that it isn't true.

I received several text messages from my old friends not too long after Mars threatened Alex. They all said they were sorry that they believed Alex.

It didn't make me feel any better.

On top of that, the day after, they all showed up at the hospital for a visit. Lafayette explained that George told him and Alex what the police found. They told the rest of the group.

It was agonizing to listen to the apologies.

"John, we're so sorry we didn't believe what happened to you."

"We thought you were making it up! Honest!"

I didn't want to hear any of that. At all. If they were going to apologize, I didn't want to hear them justify why they thought they were right.

Maria had the only sincere apology and she came to see me by herself. I hope whatever's left of our friendship can be repaired.

I've only been back at school for two days. I'm cleared to go to class, but I haven't been. My doctors' note basically says to go when I feel like I can. I don't feel like I can. I'm still in a fair amount of pain and I don't want to take the pain meds I've been prescribed because they leave me too out of it.

My external stitches have healed, but my doctor says it'll take another month or two for my abdominal muscles to regenerate and for my internal stitches to dissolve.

I can't lift more than ten pounds and I can't twist and turn.

I haven't done much. Mars and I tried to walk to the dining hall for breakfast, but I didn't make it that far. I didn't want to end up back in the hospital for ripping something, so I sat at a bench while she grabbed our food.

I'm still not sure what I did to deserve such an incredible person in my life but I'm not going to question it anymore. She's been so amazing to me the whole time I've known her.

She started doing my homework for me when I was out so I wouldn't get behind. She's honestly an angel sent from above. I told her that she didn't have to do my work for me, but she ignored me and did it anyway.

I was very capable of doing my work now, though. At least until I got bored.

I'm bored.

I close my binder and shove it to the side. "That's enough of that shit. Come here."
