It's Complicated

It was silent. Whatever was there was refusing to answer, and I briefly wondered if it was our minds were simultaneously playing a giant trick on us. It couldn't have possibly been that. That was too big of a number. Maybe the coldness of this place was finally getting to everyone else too. 

"PEEKABOO BITCH!" I heard a female voice yelled as she punched one of the guards in the face.

The sudden action caused me to scream. This was how I was going to die. Nelson was getting rid of everyone who saw me to get rid of the evidence. I was going to die. I felt myself fall to my knees before putting my head in the knees and shaking back and forth. 

"I think you broke him, Nya." I heard someone say as they slowly approached me.

'...Yeah you guys did.... Wait.... NYA?!'

My head instantly shot up as I realized Cole was beside me with his hands up to probably show that he was of no danger to me, but I wasn't really paying attention to him. I felt myself slowly rise as I saw her eyes. 

It had been so long since I had seen those eyes. Those beautiful beautiful eyes. I was vaguely aware of her running at me and launching herself into my arms, but I for sure felt myself crying as her lips touched mine. She was actually here and in my arms. 

'They actually found me! I wasn't going to die... WAIT'

I carefully pulled away and distanced myself from both of them, which confused them both tremendously. They didn't understand that Nelson finally decided to end his game of cat and mouse. 

"You guys shouldn't be here. You need to go, NOW!" I shouted as I looked at them and pointed for them to turn back.

"Dude, we found you. You are going to be fine. We took out all of the goons. You can come back now." Cole said as he tried to approach me, to which I just responded with taking another step back.

"What's wrong, Jay?" Nya asked me, realizing that there was definitely something wrong.

"This is a trap. You guys need to go before..." I started to say before getting cut off.

"They can't leave now, Jay. How dare you not introduce me to your friends. We are family after all." Nelson stated as he came through the door with several other guards. 

'Shit'

"You son of a bitch." Nya stated as she tried to come at Nelson, only for me to pull her back.

"Oh. HAHA. Of course you fell in love with a feisty person. Don't you have a type, Jay? HAHA!" Nelson cackled, and I found myself seeing red, and I felt Cole instantly grab my shoulder to hold me back like I was with Nya.

"Oh, and is this the best friend? Of course you find friendship with someone twice your size and could probably kill you." Nelson said as he started cackling again, and I felt Cole start to twitch but otherwise just stayed in the same place.

"Nelson..." I warned while shooting him a look.

"Don't worry JayJay. I unfortunately need you all alive, and unfortunately, I can't physically attack you because of that. Now here is what we are going to do. Jay, you are going to step away with the girl and you 2 are going to follow me. Your 'friend' there is going to step back into that room behind him and he is going to call the other Ninja to tell them that they found you and need help because you are in critical condition." Nelson stated, and I already felt myself moving with Nya, much to her confusion.

She wasn't going to understand my actions just yet, but I had a feeling that she was about to understand. Nelson was a very dangerous individual, and I wasn't about to fight him now. It wasn't the right time, and a Ninja always knows when it is the right time. That time wasn't now.

"And what makes you think that I would lead them to this trap?" Cole challenged, and I felt Nya was wondering the same thing.

I saw the familiar cold smile start to stretch on his face again, and I felt my stomach churn. I had to look away, and I felt Nya look up to me in confusion before hesitantly holding my hand, still not fully understanding why I was acting in this way.

"It is my understanding that one of your friends is in critical condition at the hospital. It would be a shame if one of the doctors were to 'accidentally' pull the plug." Nelson said and I saw Cole instantly go into the room.

I felt Nya shaking as she buried her face into my chest, and I felt the tears seeping through it. I started rubbing my hand down her hair and held her close as I hesitantly kissed the top of her head. I was aware of Nelson slowly turning back to face us, though he probably would care less about what we were doing as long as we were doing what he asked.

"It is just like I told you, Jay. With the right kind of leverage, you can make someone do anything." Nelson said as he nodded for us to follow him down the damp and cold hallway.
