CHAPTER 37

“I saw your pictures, it’s impressive.” Travis complimented. I smiled wider before lying on my bed. Hindi pa ako nakakapag-hilamos dahil kakauwi lang sa isang event dito sa New York.

“Thank you! You like the pictures?”

“I like the model.” I laughed loud.

Natawa rin siya sa reaksiyon ko. It’s been twelve months since I flew here in New York since most of my schedule will be held here. Kalvin is in Croatia right now for their series shooting.

“There are bunch of papers on your table. You seems busy?” He’s seating in his swivel chair, wearing a black long sleeve. He leaned his back on the chair and wrist on the table.

“A lot of works to do.” Pormal at nakangiti niyang sagot habang bahagyang pinapagalaw ang upuan. Kinuha niya ang kaniyang ballpen at nag simulang basahin ang laman ng folder na hawak. “You should sleep now. It’s late night.” 

“Yeah! Gusto lang kitang i-congrats! I saw you in Forbes. They titled you as one of the rising handsome businessman in the world. Wow.” Mahina siyang natawa dahilan para umalon ang kaniyang adams apple. “I heard some of my co-models talking about you.”

“Hmmm.” Nakangiti niyang pinirmahan ang ilang papeles, naiiling lang.

“They like you! Some of them says they meet you already somewhere. Sobrang gwapo mo raw.” Daig ko pa ang nagsusumbong kaysa sa nagkikwento. He just smirked and organized some folders, putting it on the side. “I can give your number if you want. You know Miranda? She’s very pretty.”

“No, thanks. I’m not interested if it’s not Ava.” I rolled my eyes. Bumangon ako sa kama at dumiretso ako sa kusina at nag hanap ng makakain sa fridge.

Nasanay nalang ako sa mga banat niya. Hindi niya naman ako pinipilit o inaabala. He’s just sending me message if there are important events, like Christmas, New Years and independence day? Ako ang tumawag sa kaniya para i-congrats siya. I know Travis is really working hard to reach his goals.

“You’re getting old, T! You should date. O baka naman nakikipag-date ka na kasi sa iba kaya hindi ka na interesado sa nirereto ko?” I put milk on the glass while holding the tablet on the other hand. Dumiretso ako sa sala ng aking condo at doon naupo.

“My dream girl still has a boyfriend. You know.” I rolled my eyes smiling.

“Nakwento ni Kalvin na nag kita raw kayo sa Hawaii? You were there for a business trip and he was there for some guesting.”

He nodded in agreement. “Yeah. We had a few conversation.”

I smiled sweetly. “He’s a good man.”

“I know.” Tipid na ngiti ang binigay niya sa akin. 

After that, we said our goodbyes to each other. Bumuntong-hininga ako. I tried to contact Kalvin for a couple of times but he’s busy, as usual. But I observed that he’s been more busy now than the previous months? Halos isang buwan narin kaming hindi nakakapag-usap. Kahit reply mula sa kaniya ay wala. I send a message for him, asking him if his fine.

“I’m really nervous during my walk! I don’t know. Maybe because I’m a fan of the singer?” Natatawa kong kwento kay Kalvin. “You know what, I’m really happy with my friends they found their---.”

“I need to go, babe.” Nahinto ako sa pagsasalita. Kalvin is busy with his phone from our whole dinner but that’s fine with me. Alam ko namang abala siya katulad ko. Baka kausap niya ang kaniyang manager o ang director nila.
