What does he mean by that? What he means when he said we didn't broke up?! Yes, we didn't directly said that we'll broke up before but I thought It was clear for the both of us. I said I'll be leaving and asked him to not pursue me anymore. Ano ngayon ang sinasabi niyang hindi kami nag hiwalay? We had our closure!

"I never knew that you aren't just a businessman, comedian ka na rin pala ngayon?" I fake another laughed.

The intense feeling I have earlier disappeared and turns into annoyance. Ang kapal naman ng mukha niya para sabihin sa akin na hindi kami nag hiwalay? Anong gusto niyang iparating? Na kaniya pa rin ako? That I'm cheating on him because I dated several men for the past years?

Nag kibit-balikat siya. "I didn't wait for eight years to just joke around."

Naging tabingi ang ngiti ko. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko ba siya papakisamahan kung ganito siya mag salita sa akin. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko pipigilang sampalin siya at sabihing ang kapal naman ng mukha niya! Bumuntong-hininga ako at pinakalma ang sarili.

"If you wait for eight years, that's your choice Sir. No one force you to do it." I said calmly.

Now I can feel the heavy atmosphere that's starting to build between us. I'm waiting for him to say something rude or something that will trigger me to burst into anger, words that will make me push my limits but I failed.

"I'm sorry. It's not my intention to make it sound offending." He looked away.

Bumuntong-hininga ulit ako. "I'm sorry if I over react too." I bit my lip and look down.

I shouldn't be this sensitive. Naka-moved on na ako, matagal na. Pareho lang siguro kaming nahihirapan dahil ito ang una naming pagkikita matapos ang ilang taon. Or should I say, it might not be our first encounter but the first time I noticed him and needed to talk.

Now I regret why I didn't woke up early that day. Edi sana, hindi kami maiiwang dalawa sa kwarto na'to. Kasama kong pipirma ng kontrata sina Ether at aalis na pagkatapos.

"I don't mean to offend you." He looked directly at me with repentance.

We spend our seconds in a pensive silence. "I hope we can start anew. Let's forget about the past and focus in the present. I wish that our past wouldn't affect our work. I'm here as a professional. I'm here because I signed a contract with you. I think It's better if we build a harmonious relationship with each other. Let's not dig about the past. That's it."

He nodded with so much disapproval. His eyes screamed pain and sadness but has manage to smile. "You're right. I'm sorry again."

"Okay. May mahalaga ka pa bang sasabihin Mr. CEO?" Mahinahon kong tanong.

Bumaba ang tingin niya sa cellphone ko ng mag vibrate ito. Napunta rin ang atensyon ko doon at nakita ko ang pangalan ni Nazereth. Sunod-sunod ang text message niya sa akin.

Good morning Aly. I'm here in the parking lot. I'm sorry for any disturbance but it's raining outside. Please text me if you're done so I can pick you with an umbrella

Lulu wants me to inform you that they're leaving already.

Hindi nawala ang mga mata ni Travis sa screen kaya mabilis kong pinulot ang cellphone ko at pasimpleng pinasok sa bag. I cleared my throat which makes him look back at me. His viscous eyes becomes demure, looking at me softly.

"Is there anything else we'll discuss?"

"None. Thank you for you time."

Ngumiti ako at tumayo na. "Kung gano'n, pwede na ba akong umalis, Sir?" Ilang segundo niya akong pinagmasdan. Nakatingin lang rin ako sa kaniya at naghihintay ng sagot. Ako na ang unang nag iwas ng tingin.
