"What? That's not true, Lulu." I closed my eyes and massage my head. I let myself waste too much last night that i began to see people that are impossible to be there.
He's not there. Paulit-ulit kong sinasabi sa sarili ko. Mariin ulit akong pumikit, naalala ko nanaman ang mga nangyari kagabi. Naalala ko nanaman ang masamang tingin niya sa akin. Pero alam kong lasing lang talaga ako.
"Hmmm." My manager doesn't sound convinced at all. In fact, his hum is more of a tease. "There's nothing wrong if you two are dating again! Kalvin is a good man. Handsome, rich, and everything." Natampal ko ulit ang noo ko.
"Magkaibigan nalang po kami, Mami Lulu." Malambing kong sagot.
Ang aga kong nagising dahil sa tawag ng manager ko sa akin. Kagabi lang ang after party pero parang kulog at kidlat na mabilis kumalat ang balitang nag didate na raw ulit kami o baka nagkabalikan na dahil sabay kaming umalis sa event at...
"So how can you explain the malicious photos? You're both seen checking into the same hotel. Some news even confirmed that you booked the same room!"
"Hey Babe, goodmorning." I glared at Kalvin. Inusog ko ng kaunti ang tablet para hindi siya mahagip sa view. I heard Lulu's chuckles on the line.
"Hindi pala totoo ha." He teased again but my focus wasn't there for him anymore.
Napako ang mga mata ko sa lalaking nasa harapan. My eyes slowly go up to his rich hard abdomen. I unintentionally pin my sight on his naked upper body. His muscles and v-line are so defined. He has a broad shoulder and even a nice butt! O well, the butt isn't visible because of his boxers pero isasama ko narin. His masculine body isn't a surprise to anyone who knows him. He's a main cast from a superhero film in hollywood.
I cleared my throat, binalik ang tingin sa kausap ko kanina.
"Osige, mamaya nalang tayo mag-usap. Mukhang may mahalaga ka pang usapan sa iba at mapakanta ka pa."
"Mi!" Angal ko, namumula na ang pisngi pero tinawanan niya pa ako. Wala na akong nagawa dahil tinapos niya na ang tawag sa pagitan naming dalawa.
Kalvin gave me a kiss on the cheek. I didn’t react nor prevent him from doing that. I think my mind gets numb by his manly scent. I gasped for air and made myself remember that he has arrear on me.
“Did your manager reach you out? Surely you’ve heard the news.” Tumabi siya sa akin, inabot ko sa kanya ang tablet para makita niya ang kumakalat na balita sa social media, tungkol sa amin.
He looked cooly on the screen while drying his hair using a towel. Kakatapos niya lang kasi mag swimming sa labas ng kwarto. We’re in a five star hotel, with lots of amenities like pool, jacuzzi, recreational area, spacious comfort rooms, kitchens, dining areas but with only one room! This floor is known as the lovers nest. The floor is intended for couples and newlyweds.
Tahimik kong sinimsim ang kape ko, pinapanood siya sa pagbabasa at hinihintay ang magiging reaksyon niya.
His lips twitched. He smiled playfully at me. “What’s funny, Kalvin?” Kalmado kong tanong pero deep inside, gusto ko na siyang kurutin. “People think we did something here last night! They’re spreading news that we are back together!” Madrama kong pahayag.
He chuckled sexily. “So what? We’re both single and adult.” He licked his lower lip, intently looking at me. Doon natigil ang pagdadrama ko, kunot-noong tumingin sa kanya.
“But we broke up a year ago. We’re friends and I don’t want to feed people lies so we’ll be trending or what.”
“Hmm.” Sumalumbaba si Kalvin at nakangisi akong tinitigan. “I don’t see anything wrong. We have the right to choose who we’ll love. If I want to be with you, if I want to pursue and love you, it’s my choice. I don’t care about anyone else. I only care for ours.”
