"I don't know. I only know my way around with public transport, as for the details about each place, that was always Ala's specialty."

Nakai hadn't been expecting a great answer, and he continued finishing off the last of his food while the rest of the passengers filled the bus, with the driver taking his seat once everyone was seated. While the bus slowly pulled out onto the empty road, Nakai could see the sun begin to lower in the sky as they reached late afternoon. By mid evening, the sky was pitch black and their bus pulled into the next rest stop. The rest stop was only a small parking area with public bathrooms available, but the area was well lit, and everyone got off the bus to stretch their legs, but it was only Nakai, Zhang and Luka who ventured away from the bus. The small town was the first area since getting on the bus that wasn't hit by constant falling snow, but the air was still crisp; with packs on their backs, Zhang led the way down the empty wide road, in the hopes of finding a car to steal. If they couldn't find one within seven minutes, they would need to run back to the bus then wait for the next rest stop to try again. Nakai didn't want to get back in the bus though, as long as he could help it and he looked at the paddocks and long driveways to see if there were any vehicles, but luck wasn't on their side.

With the air being colder now that the sun had set, Luka was growing cold quickly and he slowed down a little to search through his bag for his jacket. The night wasn't too quiet thanks to the constant light breeze brushing through the trees, but Luka couldn't help but feel on edge. Pulling his jacket out, Luka stopped walking to quickly put it on before looking around anxiously. When he looked behind him, in the far distance of the long straight road, he could see a pair of dim yellow headlights. The sight caused a chill to run down Luka's spine, and he quickly turned around then ran to catch up with Nakai and Zhang. As soon as Luka wedged himself between the two men, he reached out and grabbed their hands tightly, his heartbeat racing at the thought of the headlights, despite not knowing who was in the car. When Nakai felt how tight Luka was holding onto him, he looked down curiously, thinking Luka was suddenly scared of the dark; but when he looked down, Nakai could see Luka was sweating from whatever anxiety he was feeling. Before he could ask what the matter was, the loud roaring engine of a speeding car echoed off of the empty street, and Nakai turned around to see a black car headed straight for them. Reacting quickly, Nakai front kicked Zhang, who had also turned around in the stomach, sending him to the other lane of the road; at the same time, Nakai picked Luka up and lunged into the grass strip running along the road.

The car that had attempted to hit them was moving too fast to break in time, and the vehicle swerved violently before crashing through a wooden paddock fence. Dropping his bag from his back, Nakai then placed Luka on the ground and told him to stay put. By the time Zhang was picking himself up from the ground, Nakai was walking towards the five men that had exited the car, each of them holding a baton of some kind. Despite a bruise forming as he moved, Zhang rushed over to Nakai's side and dropped his bag as well, before taking on two of the five men. With Nakai striking first, he was able to knock a man out with one punch to the side of his head, allowing Zhang to pick up his wooden bat; with a few hard hits, both men in front of Zhang fell to the ground, clutching their broken knees, before they were hit in the heads one after the other. For Nakai the fight ended after only three hits, one for each man. Without catching their breath, Nakai and Zahng moved the bodies from the road to the grass strip. While they worked tirelessly, Luka couldn't help but comment optimistically.

"Well, at least we have a vehicle now."

While Zhang rubbed his aching stomach, Nakai followed Luka's gaze and found the car in the paddock was still turned on and running. The trio quickly ran down the road to further inspect the damage, and found the front bumper was hanging on by one screw, but with a firm pull, the problem was fixed and Nakai threw the bumper at the unconscious men; a dull thud coming from the impact. Before getting in the car, Nakai felt it was best to check, and he looked at Zhang curiously before asking.
