When her phone was halfway charged, Yuki looked at it, delighted to see a message from Fusaaki had finally arrived. She read it and frowned. "...Busy with what? Studying for school? No, that can't be... for that, he wouldn't leave the house... What is he up to...?"
Her self-conversation made Hiko come over. "What?",
"Nah. Nothing. Fusaaki's just not making any sense.",
"He never makes sense.",
"True that." Yuki typed back a message. "So what? What are you doing?"
She got a reply some minutes later. "Let's meet at my place now. I'll tell you later.",
"..." She sighed and then nodded.
"Alright. Expect me in 10 minutes."

She showed up at his door and thought of just knocking at the window, but she didn't want to hear another lecture about the existence of doors, so she just knocked at the door. He opened. "Hi.",
"Hi. So, what's the secretiveness about?",
"I would appreciate if you'd come in first."
She obliged and entered his house, sitting down on the couch. "So? I'm listening.",
"I'm... kinda... Uh..." He stood in the middle of the room, scratching his head. "...spying right now?",
"Spying on who?",
"The demon hunters.",
"Excuse me?" She looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Listen." He crossed his arms. "I was on some demons today when these folks went up to me interrogating me about my weapon and why I was after demons. So... I basically told them some lie about being the intern of a dead demon hunter blah blah blah. So, to say it short... I am planning on infiltrating these folks."
Silence. Yuki just looked at him in pure silence. Then, she crossed her legs. "Allow me one question.",
"Yeah?",
"When did you start losing your mind?",
"I am not planning on letting you berating me, Yuki. I can't turn back anyway." He sighed. "I know this is crazy, but... This way, I can somewhat protect you, you know. I know there were on you and Hiko today. I can get valuable info from inside their ranks the more they are trusting me. And...", he built up eye contact, "...since I am human, it's easier for me to make them trust me. I just have to find out when to bring in some details of my past that make it logical for me to hate demons. When you think about it, I wouldn't have any logical reason to help demons, naturally, if I leave some little details unmentioned. Their leader is impressed by my skills and he'll be using me for sure, which means I can somewhat warn you.",
"I hope you are aware of the danger the game you're playing holds."
Fusaaki shook his head. "I chose to do this, so I gotta get through with this. Anyways... why did you want to speak to me?",
"Well..." Yuki twisted a strand of white hair around her finger. "It's true. Some assholes from the demon hunter unit plus some stupid-ass exorcists lured Hiko and me into Oblivion district. They know mine and Hiko's addresses... from I don't know where... and so we can't get back there, naturally. So... We are seizing temporary shelter in Black Asylum's HQ.",
"... I figured as much..." He leaned against the wall. "It was the only logical conclusion I could draw. As from what I heard, one of their agents recognized you as a demon on the streets. She followed you home, thus got your name, and then collected information about you and Hiko from your school.",
"So I gotta be more cautious about the people around me, huh... Dang..." She cussed. "Anyways... I originally wanted to request if you could help us out over there. I think we would need as many allies as we can get.",
"..." He nodded. "Well, I am, basically, covering you for now. I don't know where the BA HQ is exactly...",
"It's at Strelitzia Road. An old abandoned house. Apparently belonged to the leader's mom.",
"Hm... Alright..." He nodded. "Are you sure you can trust these people? When I remember correctly, one of them tried to kill us in the past.",
"Well, yeah..." Yuki nodded. "But apparently, Assaku wasn't aware of that. He made it clear that he would not tolerate a second attempt. The guy seems reasonable, at least... Even tho he is rude beyond belief." She snorted. "But he appears to be cool with us, so I have no reason to mistrust him. For now. I will remain wary of him of course, but practically, we are in the same boat right now, so what would he have to gain from betraying Hiko and me?",
"I could imagine that they might try to sell you out to the demon hunters. They know who you are and maybe can acquire a free ticket to leave from them in exchange for you.",
"You think?",
"Rational creatures have an interest in surviving, finding strategies to do so is hard but I bet they might take every chance they have. Don't trust them all too quickly. Not unless you know what their true intentions are and why they are helping you. I don't think they do it out of the kindness of their hearts, not in a situation like that at least. They might need something from you. Or need something to do with you.",
"Hm... Well, maybe, but... I don't see a point in that. It's not like they'd get away with that anyway, demon hunters don't negotiate with demons, do they?",
"Not that I am aware of.",
"Assaku has once been affiliated with the Raucos and he's Yurai's... uh... friend? Ex friend?",
"Why did he leave then?",
"Because of an incident... I think it was something about a friend of his who was killed by demon hunters. In any case, he's pretty pissed because of these guys... and wants to oppose them. He was pretty clear on that. I don't think he would be lying about it, given that Yurai told me the same story. He and his team also came helping us in the war back then. I also think he got rid of great parts of Oathbreaker.",
"Hm... I see..." Fusaaki crossed his legs too. "Okay, let's say we can trust the guy. What about the others?",
"I can't say too much about them. I only know Sytria, the one who attacked us. The other two... I guess Majoria and Shurax are their names... I don't know. Shurax doesn't talk much. Something about the guy seems off to me. And Majoria seems to be a nice gal, at least by my first impression. Hiko roasted the other bitch to ashes."
Fusaaki raised his head. "...Huh? What was that?",
"Yeah, there was that one Angel of Revenge with an attitude that freaked out about... I don't actually know what her problem was, but anyways, she attacked Assaku. Hiko then used a fire spell on her that turned her into a pile of ash.",
"And Assaku didn't... like... try to stop her?",
"Nope. Apparently, that girl was an evil prick, so... He didn't. Actually seemed more like everyone was happy that idiot is gone.",
"Huh...",
"He said something about her using them and them returning the favor or something... Couldn't quite catch that.",
"... Well..." He shrugged. "Their business. For now, it seems this dude is... trustworthy. Last time I encountered him, he instantly knew I worked for Lucifer and he didn't seem... hostile at all. He told me the gate has been closed by force.",
"Yeah, he said the same to me.",
"Also, beware. The demon hunters seem to get their orders from an angel.",
"An angel?",
"Yeah. The one guy I spoke to said an angel appeared and told them to go and kill demons.",
"..." She sighed. "Awesome. So, what are you gonna do next?",
"That I'll see. I will inform you as soon as I know more.",
"Hm..." She looked out of the window and suddenly froze. "..."
