Ch 10: Bachelorette Night

"Lightning moves pretty fast actually. Between the two of us, you're more likely to be slow. I can glitch you, save the walk time. That way you'll still be fresh and frosty."

"I'm always frosty. I don't need help to stay that way." Killer Frost denied she looked to the group. "It's been real, ladies."

"Not getting away that easily." Clarity glitched after her. "Fun fact, you and Caitlin share the same electrical signature but yours moves a tad bit slower. Must be the cold creepin in your system. Where too?"

"Your persistent." Killer Frost scowled.

"Your in trouble, so is Caitlin. I'm Caitlin's friend, ergo you have my help even if you don't particularly want it. I don't doubt you can do this on your own, but just in case his boss pulls out some surprises...you'll have a little surprise in your corner too."

"Little surprise is right. You won't make much difference." Killer Frost denied. "Your half asleep already. Need another nap?"

"I need to help my friend. Your were right. I haven't been here for Caitlin. I went to the time bureau, I was time traveling, I didn't know she was coping with...well you. But if I'd known she needed me here, like I do right now, I'd have helped her then, but I didn't so I'm helping her now."

"If I were to tell you Caity doesn't want your help?" Killer Frost replied.

"I already know she doesn't. If she did she would have asked already. I know she doesn't want to endanger anyone else. But like it or not she needs help. The snake guy attacked me, I'm already in this. I've been where she is. Hiding a power because your scared those you love will hate you for it? Family, friends... I told Tyler, he was my ex...we were fiancé's. I told him about my powers and he hated me for it. As much as he loved me it all turned to hate so fast. I'd go out heroing, I'd get home he'd just scream at me. He'd make me wear contacts all the time. Made me feel horrible about myself if I ever used my powers in front of him. In hindsight, things with Tyler weren't very good. I was so in love I never saw it, but really the love in his heart it all turned to hate for me, right up to his death. I still haven't told my dad I'm a meta, I mean I put my own mother in a coma. I've taken lives. If I ever do...." Clarity sighed. "That fear Caitlin has its valid. I know how that fear can freeze you up. It still gets to me, I want her to know that now that her secret's out she still has a friend."

"Your depressing, if I give you the address will you shut up?" Killer Frost demanded.

Clarity nodded, Killer Frost told her where they needed to go. Clarity glitched them there.

A drunken guy tried to put his hand up Claritys skirt as they walked past. Clarity yelped in surprise not having expected it. The guy had looked smashed. Killer Frost yanked his arm off her freezing it in seconds. "I'm sorry, I thought touching without permission was what you wanted." Killer frost glared, she pushed Clarity lightly to walk. "Keep moving, don't let anyone tell you their a good guy. You won't find any of those here. I think Caity made that mistake once. You seem like you make the same choices."

"No guys are good guys." Clarity denied as she hugged herself. "Especially the ones who act like they are. At least the bad ones are upfront about being total assholes."

"I'm going to see Amunet, if you hear fighting then you can do your zappy thing and come in. Until then stay out in the party and blend. Try not to look so down, you're killing the vibe."

Clarity nodded, looking around at the dancing people. Deciding to just go find a nice corner of the room to stand in. Distance herself a little bit from the mass of writhing bodies. But of course a new drunken guy just had to approach her.
