"Great." Zari whispered.
"Again." Ray frowned as his younger self's voice chimed from the kitchen.
"Popcorn's ready." Young Ray declared as the microwave beeped. Zari and Ray quickly had to hide. Zari slid under the bed and Ray shrunk down. Only to get grabbed by Gumball though thankfully Kid Ray stepped in to save him.
"Stop that. Toys are our friends." Young Ray told Gumball taking his older self from the baby and placing him on the dresser. He studied the atom suit Ray keeping completely still not even daring to breathe. "I don't remember you. Hmm."
"Come on, this is my favorite." Young Ray told the alien laying down on his bedroom floor putting on singing in the rain. Chin resting on his hand as he watched the screen.
"Is that music?" Sara demanded with a tilt of her head as the team heard the sound of the tv filtering in through Ray's coms.
"Yeah, "Singin' in the Rain," only the best musical ever." Ray replied.
"Not as good as "Fiddler on the Roof."" Mick objected from where he sat on the parlour steps. "I love that show." Mick got strange looks from Stein and Sara, as well as an unreadable one from Clarity. "What?"
"Oh, Boys, boys, both of you are dead wrong. Everybody knows that the Wizard of OZ is the best musical ever to be created." Clarity protested. "It's a timeless magical classic filled with color and wonder. Singing in the rains just some dull musical about some actor who's struggling to adjust to the changing time in his career and should have tried Broadway instead of the pictures. Fiddler on the roof is about some Jewish guy who sets up his daughters. The Wizard of OZ on the other hand, that's about one insignificant little farm girl running away from her dreary black and white life via a freaking tornado and then she goes taking down a whole magical dictatorship of witches overnight with nothing but her friends and her pet pooch and the snazziest sparkleyest slippers in the world. Case has been made I'd drop my mic but the feedback would suck. Anyone else have anything to add?"
"Yeah I do, Singing in the rain is so much better than the Wizard of Oz. Granted I do like that one too, but the chemistry of the love story in singing in the rain is palpable. The feeling of comeuppance when Lina gets her just deserts, the energy of the dance numbers, how can you not say it's the best one?"
"I've got back Clarity on this, sorry Ray. The Wizard of Oz is a marvel to behold." Amaya agreed only to see a station wagon pull up into the Palmer driveway. "We got a new problem."
"Do you know anyone who owns a green station wagon with fake wood paneling?" Nate asked Ray.
"What's my mom doing home?" Ray wondered to himself.
"Dude, you never mentioned your mom was hot." Nate eyed Ray's mom taking in her pale skin, and light brown hair.
"Why would I ever mention that?" Ray wondered in reply.
"You would think she's hot." Amaya observed. "Her and Clarity share quite a few features."
"What are you saying that I have a type?" Nate raised a brow. "Cause I'm into other types of girls too. It's not just fair skinned brunette's."
"Sure when that types not interested." Amaya replied.
"Are you saying I went out with you just cause Clarity shut me down?" Nate asked tilting his head.
"No, but you just did." Amaya sighed.
"Okay, look so I might have had a crush on her once upon a time but that was before I met her. Before I met you, Claritys made it very clear she's not interested and that's fine. I'd rather be with you having gotten to know both of you."
