Chapter 22

As soon as I landed at Jeju International Airport I immediately ride a cab to go to Hongik Center. I heard it's the only orphanage in Jeju and it's located at seaside

The moment we arrived, the driver told me that he can't drop me off at the exact orphanage so he just told me the directions but I didn't hear it well because their accent is different from ours. I just thanked him and gave him a tip before he left

I decided to wander around but I can't find any signs that will lead me to the Hongik Center

"Uhm excuse me" I decided to ask a guy who I think is the same age as me

"Yes? How can I help you?" he looks so approachable

"Do you know where Hongik Center is?"

"Are you going to adopt a child?" he looks so shocked the moment I asked that

"Uh no I'm just---"

"I'm just kidding" he laughed then patted my back "Follow me"

I know that we just met but I think I can trust him so I just followed him. We entered a gate and a guard greeted us. The moment we entered the gate along stairs and a small village welcomed us and I can see the ocean from our position since we're at the top

"Wow" I unconsciously said

"Welcome to Hongik Orphanage"

"W-Wait? This is the orphanage?" 

"Yeah this whole village is an orphanage" he smiled at me and offered his hand "I'm Jihoon and I'm the son of the director of this orphanage" my jaw dropped the moment I heard that and bowed at him while shaking his hand

"It's a pleasure to meet you" 

"You're here for Shin Ryujin right?" my eyes widen when he said that

"How did you know?"

"It's just my instincts" he laughed then later on started to walk "Follow me"

I followed him just like what he said and we're now walking for about 10 minutes straight. I'm starting to get tired when he suddenly stopped walking

"There she is," he said while pointing at the kids who are gathering at the sand. I tried to look for Ryujin but I can't find her

"Kids! We have a visitor" Jihoon shouted. All the kids started to look in our direction, smiled, and started to approach us. And there I saw Ryujin sitting on the sand with her dress, smiling while watching the kids running towards us. She, later on, looked in our direction and her smile slowly fades away when our eyes met

"R-Ryujin-ah" the tears started to form at the corner of my eyes while looking at her. She disappeared for a while but I feel like I haven't seen her for a long time

"Sir"

I immediately wipe the tears on the corner of my eyes when the kids suddenly held my hand called me

"His angels" I smiled at them and kneeled to  be on the same height as them

"Are you here to play with us?" one of them asked excitedly

"Yes-----"

"You can play with him later but as of now, you need to eat breakfast" Jihoon cut what I'm saying. He grabbed my luggage and brought the kids with him. I understand what he's trying to do so I just let him

"What are you doing here?" Ryujin asked with her blank face

I didn't notice her presence behind me. I look at her but she looks away
