I felt the smoke reach my lungs before everything went black.

(Blake's Pov)
"Apartment fire 1098 North Bradshaw. Truck 81, Squad 3, Engine 51, Battalion 25, Ambulance 61."
I ran out to the rigs. I know y/n lives there.

When we got there we were informed that the fire was contained to floor 6. The bag news was that y/n lives on that floor. I put my gear on and I went in with Stella.
"Fire Department call out!"
We yelled as we got closer to the end of the hallway.
"Help!" I looked over to see a little girl about the age of ten running to us.
"You take her. Someone I know is in this building." I told Stella. She nodded and helped the girl out.
"Everyone's out Gallo! Come on!" Casey yelled down the hall.
"There one more apartment!"
He nodded.
"Be quick!"
I broke the door down.
"Y/n!" I yelled.
"Y/n! Call out!"
I saw her passed out on the floor. I checked her pulse and then picked her up.
"Come on Y/n. You gotta wake up."

My eyes fluttered open and quickly adjusted to the light.
"Hey!" I looked to my right to see Blake.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked with a cough.
"I couldn't let you wake up on your own could I?"
"You didn't have to stay."
"I'm your best friend. Of course I had to stay. Besides I love you."
I looked towards him. He's never told me he loved me before.
"You love me?" I asked with a smile.
"No! I never said." I cut him off.
"Shut up and kiss me." He smiled and leaned over to place a kiss on my lips.
"I love you too."
