Ch 5: Something not like this

"Hey, beautiful!" Mick called to the bartender. "Get my girl here a blue rasberry martini. Stirred, she's not a light weight and don't skimp on the syrup and instead of a cherry drop a strawberry in there."

"Coming right up." The woman nodded winking at Mick.

"Thanks Mick." Clarity smiled. Mick nodded in reply.

"You earned it." Mick replied.

"Look, you can trust us, okay? We're the good guys." Ray told Zari. "Oh, don't be fooled by our disguises." Ray covered his goatee and lifted up his eye patch. "Good guy!"

Mick passed Clarity her drink though she didn't get to take a sip of it.

"It's her." Zari frowned as she caught sight of the water assassin in the doorway.

"What? Oh my god. Her body has no charge. I couldn't sense her...no more like there's nothing to sense. There's no electrical energy in her body. But..every living thing produces electricity in their bodies."

"Figure it out later. Let's get out of here. Come on." Mick grabbed onto Zari's arm with his free hand nudging Clarity with his beer hand signaling her to start walking.

"Oh, a pool party." Mick remarked as Kuasa appeared in front of them.

"Uh, I don't see how this is a party." Clarity frowned backing up with Zari towards Ray and Jax.

Kuasa shot a blast of water at Zari, but Clarity shot a blast of her lightning and they cancelled each other out steam rising in between them where their blasts had met.

"Cute tricks." Sara complimented breaking a pool stick slapping Kuasa in the face with it. "Mine are better."

But Sara was thrown back as Kuasa took hold of the water in Sara's body or rather her blood.

"Get her to the ship!"  Sara called to Clarity nodding to Zari.

"I can't glitch, A.R.G.U.S. Will shoot us down in seconds." Clarity protested.

"Then run." Sara replied. "I'll buy you time. It's okay. I'll be fine. Just get clear."

"You guys have a ship?" Zari asked. "Is it a big ship?"

"You'll see!" Clarity replied tugging Zari out of the bar.

"Ray, Jax, take her!" Clarity told the two boys as a set of drones blocked their path. "I'll keep these things busy, go!" Only this time Clarity hadn't been successful in defeating them. Though she was able to have just enough time to hack them old school from her phone, which was not the easiest thing to do when she was running and fighting for her life and dealing with tech twenty years older than what she had in her hand. She'd been trying to switch to an error signal or disengage the drones but she hadn't had enough time. They had a lock on her, and more than twenty had joined the fray. Arrest mode was the best she could do. And so Clarity got knocked unconscious, and taken to A.R.G.U.S's metahuman prison. The drones carrying her limp body all the way there.

"Okay, this is... almost amazing." Zari commented as she touched the console.

"What do you mean, "almost"?" Jax protested hands shoved in his pockets. "Sure it's no O.A.S.I.S. But our hideout can fly."

"You guys know about O.A.S.I.S?" Zari asked.

"Yeah we popped by for a little visit. Followed the wrong positron trail. Don't worry." Ray assured her. "You'll be safe here."
