This chapter is a little short compared to the other ones, but I did not want to cram all of it into one chapter. I hope you guys enjoy it

"You found your mate?" Kian's friend repeated as he leaned back in his chair.

Kian nodded his head while he took a sip of his strawberry lemonade. The two sat in a small family-owned cafe located a few minutes from Kian's house. It was a place the two often went when they wanted to escape from everyone.

He had asked to speak with Jasper to inform him of his departure.

"And you found them while you were in Florida?" he asked. "Is it the Beta you brought to the party?"

"Yes. He is my mate," Kian answered nervously. Jasper was his only really close friend, so his opinion mattered more to him than the others. Kian needed to tell him before he left for good.

Jasper remained silent for a moment, collecting his thoughts. He scratched the stubble growing on his chin as he stared. Then a slow smile spread across his face. "I never thought I'd see the day."

"Huh?"

Jasper leaned forward with a grin. "Dude, seeing you settle for someone is shocking. You always claimed you never cared about the whole mate thing or even wanted one. Now look at you."

Kian's face heated up as he scratched the back of his neck.

"And the fact that it's because of a guy. Who would've thought," he chuckled, raising his class. "The womanizer is finally tamed."

Now it was Kian's turn to smile, but it disappeared as quickly as it came. "I also wanted to let you know that I'm moving back to his pack."

"Aw that sucks. For me, not you. This place is a real shithole. Everyone else here are losers and assholes," he frowned. "Maybe I'll come visit you sometime. Perhaps I will find my mate, too."

"That'd be great."

The two continued chatting for a while, eating their sandwiches at the same time. They were there for a while before Kian decided it was time to go back home to his family and his mate.

"Congrats, man." Jasper gave his friend a goodbye hug. "Text me if you need help with anything. Don't ghost me like you did before or I'll beat your ass."

Kian chuckled. "Yeah, sorry about that. I was just dealing with some shit."

"That you were," Jasper teased, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Oh, fuck off."

"Bye honey," Nancy held her son in a tight embrace. "Please be safe. And make smart decisions."

"I will, mom," Kian replied with an eye roll.

Kian's dad clamped his hand down on his son's shoulder. "Don't get any girls pregnant now. We don't need that scare again."

Kian remembered that unfortunate event. One of the girls Kian fooled around with got pregnant, and she went around the school spreading rumors that Kian was the one who knocked her up. It turned out that the baby belonged to another guy who didn't use a condom. Kian's parents nearly had heart attacks when they received a phone call from the principal, and Kian always made sure he used non-expired condoms.

"You don't need to worry about that, dad," Kian said, secretly glancing at Theo from the corner of his eye.

The plane ride to the Florida pack was much nicer than the one to Texas. Not to mention Kian was in a completely better mood. He sat in a comfy chair next to the most important person in the world. He didn't have a piece of him missing. He felt complete, and Theo had the same feeling.
