Chapter 41: Happy endings are real after all

Start from the beginning

When the whole school had settled down, Professor Dumbledore announced that all exams were called off. I couldn't help but laugh at the horrified look on Hermione face, it was like being petrified was the second worst thing that happened to her this year. None of us were even disappointed when it was announced that Gryffindor had won the house cup. Maybe Cedric was right, there were such things as happy endings.

The end of another year at Hogwarts came quickly after all the students were revived and the next thing I knew, we were on the Hogwarts express to head home.

Leaving Freya with Cedric and my friends, I walked down the hall of the train looking for Harry, Ron and Hermione. There were so many rumors going around about what happened in the chamber of secrets and I wanted to find out the truth about what happened. The only thing we did know was Lockhart had lost all his memories and was taken to St Mungo's. Which meant we were going to have another new defense against the dark arts teacher again next year.

I finally found the three Gryffindor's along with Ginny in one of the last compartments on the train.

"I do believe I told you three not to do anything crazy without talking to me first," I told them, leaning on the door frame in the exact way that my dad did.

"We really didn't have time to find you," Harry laughed.

"Yeah, I know. But next come and find me, I mean it. I don't want any of you getting hurt again. But seriously, what happened in the chamber?" I asked, sitting down next to Ginny.

Both Harry and Ron explained how they cornered Lockhart and forced him into the chamber. I bust out laughing when they told me that Lockhart admitted to them that he had lied about everything in his books and had erased the memories of the people who had really done all the things he said he did so he could make himself famous. But I lost it even more when they said that Lockhart had tried to use Ron's broken wand to wipe their memories and it backfired on him, completely wiping his memory. The man really got what he deserved.

Harry then told me about Tom Riddle, the basilisk and the diary that Ginny had been using. I felt so sorry for the poor girl, she had thought that she had found someone who she could tell her problems to and she ended up being used by Voldemort himself. When Harry told me that Malfoy's dad was the one that slipped the diary to Ginny, I really wasn't surprised. I would be willing to bet everything I owned that the man was a death eater, especially when I found out that Dobby the house elf worked for them. At least Dobby was free of the family now and able to live his life without being scared every day.

"That is insane," I said when Harry finished his story, so much happened.

"I know, I'm just glad that this year's over," Harry said.

"That makes two of us Harry. It's been a crazy year for all of us," I said to him.

It was then little Ginny spoke up for the first time and she asked the last thing that I expected, but it made me smile.

"Um, Elsa. Is it true that you have the same name as a fairytale princess," she asked in a quiet voice. Even after everything she had been through, she was still the same innocent little girl and I was glad the Voldemort hadn't taken that from her.

"Well, technically she a queen. The queen of Arendelle," I laughed.

"I wish I shared a name with a fairytale queen. No one special ever has my name," she said sadly.

"You know what that means, don't you?" I asked the youngest Weasley, who shook her head to say no. "It means that YOU are the one who's going to make it special and in the future little girls are going to be proud to share a name with the one and only Ginny Weasley."

I had never been happier when I saw my parents waiting for me on the train platform at the end of the year

I had never been happier when I saw my parents waiting for me on the train platform at the end of the year. So many things had happened over the past twelve months and I was more than ready to head home to my normal kind of crazy that was the life of an Avenger. Cedric and I had already promised each other that we would meet up over the summer break, there was no way that I could go three months without seeing him. Not after everything that we had been through. But right now, all I care about was hugging my Mum and Dad.

I ran off the train as fast as I could into the waiting arms of my parents. They both hugged me tight, just like they did when I was younger and finally everything in the world felt right. I had all the people I loved with me and nothing was ever going to change that. Not now, not ever.

"I've missed you both so much," I said to them, as Mum started to tear over.

"We have missed you too, princess," Mum told me, brushing a stray curl out of my face.

"It feels like we haven't seen you in so long," Dad said, pulling Mum closer to him as she tried not to cry.

I looked over to see that Uncle David and Aunt Tammy were holding on to Danny like they were never going to let him go again and I really couldn't blame them after what had happened to him. Eventually they came over to talk to us as did Cedric's parents and Maggie's Mum. They were all talking about how we needed to plan to meet up over the summer break as Tony walked over, looking extremely tired and holding a bunch of arc reactor powered phones.

"Okay, that's it people," he said handing my friends phones of their own. "I am NOT having any more owls flying into Avengers Tower and making a mess. I have made each of you a phone that completely runs on Stark Tech and I'm not taking no for an answer."

Cassy and I lost it laughing as he explained how the phones worked as we remembered all the times owls had landed on his head to deliver letters.

As we all walked off platform 9 and 3/4, I couldn't help but think this was going to be the best summer ever.
