a/n i've decided to repost the first chapter in two parts, because it was too long!

"well, lav, it's just you and me now."

what do kids even do all day? watch tv? that's actually not a bad idea, maybe she'll want to watch it for a while and he can mind his own business.

"hey lav, do you want to watch tv?"

"peppa!"

peppa pig, worth at least ten oscars. where do you even watch that show? netflix? okay, apparently you do watch it on netflix. and it has three seasons, that will keep her happy for a while.

why do these pigs look so weird? and oh my god, that brother is so annoying. imagine having to edit this show, you deserve a million-dollar salary. why does lav even like this show? clearly, daniel is already fed up with lavender's show, after the first minute.

turns out, time flies when you're watching a stupid pig run around. it's already 1 o'clock and time to eat something. jack told him lav usually eats some fruit for lunch, so that's what he's going to make. luckily christian has an obsession with fruit, so they have a wide range at home. cutting up some pineapple, honeydew and strawberries will do. he's not that healthy himself though, so for himself he'll just make a peanut butter sandwich or something like that.

"lav, it's lunchtime! here, i have some fruits for you!"

she looks at him, and the bowl in his hands, and then turns her gaze back to the tv. excuse me. are toddlers always this rude?

"lav. you need to eat something."

he can't believe it. she doesn't even look at him. maybe she doesn't eat by herself normally? maybe they always feed her? no, one-year-olds, actually almost two-year-olds, can eat themselves. or she's just not feeling it today, that could also be the case. he guesses that feeding her might help. or not, but it's worth a shot.

"look lav, here's a strawberry. it's very yummy!"

he tries to give it to her. he even tries to put it in her mouth, but she just turns her face away. little missy sure knows what she wants. what she doesn't want actually. maybe she doesn't like strawberries, maybe the melon is better.

"here, do you want some melon?"

but it seems like she doesn't want this either. and the pineapple also turns out to be a no-go. what kind of fruit does she eat then? jack said she always eats fruit, but she doesn't like some of the most basic fruits? that's weird.

"hey lav, do you want to eat something else? an apple, or some cereal maybe? fruit loops?"

no reaction. what the fuck.

he tries to feed her a strawberry again. this time she doesn't ignore him, this time she smacks his hand away. when did Lavender grow such an attitude? neither jack nor gabbie are like this, and they sure haven't raised her like this. or maybe it's his fault. she's at someone else's house, maybe she wants to eat unhealthy for a day. that something he always loved when he stayed at someone else's house for sure.

"look lav! do you want some of my peanut butter sandwich?"

he rips a piece of his sandwich and holds it out for her. that sure doesn't provoke a response. maybe he should just put it down in front of her, so she can pick it up herself.

it's been a minute and she still hasn't looked at the piece of bread. or the bowl of fruit. all she does is stubbornly stare at the tv. nothing seems to get her to eat. wait, he should text jack. he obviously knows what to do.

jack
