earth september 13th, 2149 the colour green
GREEN WAS ALWAYS AVA'S FAVOURITE colour. There was just something about it that made her feel content. Maybe she liked it because green was always said to be the colour of nature. Or, according to a book Ava once read on the Ark, the colour green represents tranquillity, good luck and health. Julia, Ava's mother, would often say it was because Ava's first name was Jaden and that jade was a stone that symbolised gentleness, harmony and balance. Though Ava never thought much about the meaning behind the colour, all she knew was that she always had and always will adore the colour green.
So, when she landed on Earth in an ancient dropship and the doors opened to reveal a luscious green forest, Ava was overwhelmed to say the least. Because earth wasn't just home to the colour green, it was bursting with every tint of the rainbow and all pigments between.
Still staring wide-eyed in astonishment at her new surroundings, Ava observed Octavia inhale the fresh air coming from outside and cautiously step down the ramp onto the untouched dirt. All of the criminals behind her waited eagerly for something to happen. With brown leaves crunching under her boots, Octavia started forward about five steps before she hollered the earliest words earth had perceived in ninety-seven years.
