Darkness

I turned and faced it, just looking. I looked until the abyss swallowed me and my eyes lost themselves.I looked at that endless, primordial, terrifying thing . Everything it had seen and known and watched as it turned to dust in its eternal omnipotence, everything it had seen in its travels, everlasting. The thing inside man's heart and the thing in the darkness that made one beg for light. So fast that in the beginning there was light but long before it; darkness. I looked at it and all it told me I could, never, would never amount to or the sick twisted visions of terror and suffering and pain and stared some more

And the darkness winced in fear.
