I lay awake, staring at the ceiling, in the bed.
I thing Loki's sleeping, but it doesn't really matter.
I can't sleep.
I have all of these thoughts running through my head.
When's my birthday?
Who were my friends? If I had friends.
What was my life like?
How did I end up here?
How did this sock monkey get in that shop?
Who am I, really?
I had all the unanswerable questions.
Well, some where answerable.
But none could be exact.
I could ask Loki to read my memories again, and answer my questions.
But at the same time, I didn't even want to know.
I mean, what's the point?
I'd feel so much more pain.
I know my family is dead.
I know what I had is gone, and will never come back.
It'll just pain me to think of it all.

I hug Willie tightly, trying anything to remember one little thing.
Now, I know I said I didn't want to remember most things.
But I wanna know something about this sock monkey, I guess.
Clearly, it was special to me.
I tried, so hard.
Thinking.
Focusing.
But nothing.
My mind was blank.
I sigh, looking over to the clock.
It was 2:30am.
I hadn't slept at all.
But that's alright, I guess.
I don't get much sleep.
I sit up, holding the sock monkey, and walk over to the window.
The snow wasn't that bad anymore.
I mean, sure, there was still a lot of snow. But at least we could get out of here now, if we wanted to.

I stare out the window.
What else was there to do?
I kind of wanted fresh air, but I shouldn't just leave.
It'd be stupid anyways, I guess.
I watch as Sam come up to me, rubbing against my leg.
I don't know why I actually called him Sam.
I know that was my brothers name, but I knew nothing about him.
"You can't sleep?" I hear from behind me.
I turn around, startled, and accidentally slap Loki.
"What was that for?" He asks, confused.
"Holy shit, I'm sorry." I say.
"No worries." He says, standing next to me now.
I don't even know how I woke him, I wasn't loud.
"Did I wake you?" I ask him.
"No, I woke myself."
So.. he just woke up?
That's a confusing way to put it.
I woke myself.
"May I ask, though, what you are doing awake this late?" He asks.
I shrug, looking down at the sock monkey that was still in my hand.
"I couldn't sleep."
Loki nods, confirming he was listening.
I didn't really like talking late at night.
It's just odd, I guess.
I don't know.
I like being free in my thoughts.
And here, I suppose, I feel a bit suffocated.
Yes, there's nobody near for miles, but all we do is sit in this cabin all day, everyday.
"Did you try to sleep?" Loki asks, as though he could see right through me.
I didn't, but I'm not going to say that.
"Yeah." I answer.

It feels weird being cared about.
I think I am, at least.
I mean, Loki cared if I slept, I think.
And he was there when I was upset.
If confused me as to why, after all this time, nobody trusts or likes him.
Nobody forgives him.
For what he unwillingly did.

"Are you going to rest again?" Loki asks.
No, obviously.
I didn't sleep at all, yet.
"I don't think so."
I could tell he was tired, but he was awake now.
Usually, for me, when I wake up I can't fall asleep again.
Usually.
"What will you do?"
I shrug.
I wanted to go outside to get some fresh air.
I wanted to ride that motorcycle again, and feel the wind blowing in my face.
It's a distraction from my thoughts.
I must've been staring at the motorcycle that sat outside, because Loki chuckles, "You know it's 2:40?"
"Yeah."
"And you want to go out now?"
Clearly.
"Yeah."
Loki sighs, and grabs his shoes.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"You want to go out, right?"
I nod.
"Then we'll go outside." He says.
I smile a bit, and gently place down Willie on one of the chairs.
I grab my boots, and quickly slip them on.
I didn't care if I was in pajamas, really.
I wouldn't be sleeping now, but I'd definitely take a nap later.
Maybe.
I open the door, about to leave, but then something covers my back.
I turn around, and Loki's covering my coat on me.
I smile a bit, and put on the jacket.
I wonder what it was like, to not be cold in freezing temperatures.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't like knowing he's a frost giant, but it was still pretty cool.
To not get cold, that is.

I walk down the small steps of the cabin, and go right over to the motorcycle.
"You're driving that thing, right?" Loki asks.
"Obviously." I chuckle.
He doesn't even know how to drive.
I sit down on the motorcycle, and he sits down behind me.
I know this thing required the rider to wear a helmet but, well, I have no helmet.
"Hold on." I say, and he grabs hold of my waist.
The last thing I need is him dying tonight.
I start up the motorcycle, and soon, we're riding down the street.
It was pretty dark, and there weren't exactly street lights.
But, the motorcycle had pretty bright lights.
By bright, I mean BRIGHT.
I mean, this is an Avengers motorcycle.
Now that I think of it, it could have a tracking device.
But, nobody's come here yet.

I loved the breeze hitting my face.
I loved feeling the breeze blow my hair back in the wind.
I think Loki was enjoying this feeling of, I guess, freedom too, because he was laughing silently.
I couldn't turn around to see if he was smiling, but I assume he is.
"Where do you wanna go?" I ask Loki.
"We're going somewhere?" He asks, confused.
"If you want to."
He looks around, looking for a place to just think.
"There." He says, pointing toward the frozen lake, not that far from here.
There was a bunch of land to sit on, and there was also a small dock.
I start to drive toward the lake.
It wasn't even that far, so I only had to turn once or twice.

As soon as we get to the small lake, I park the motorcycle, and get off.
Loki does the same.
"Why'd you wanna come here?" I ask.
"Would you prefer the forest?" He asks, sarcastically.
Loki walks over toward the deck.
But, it was covered in snow.
He turns around, looking over at me, as if it were my cue.
I roll my eyes, sarcastically.
With the flick of my hands, the snow piles into a ball, and I move it toward the lane instead.
Just like that, the snow isn't on the dock anymore.
I follow Loki up to the edge of the deck, and sit down next to him.
It was nothing like the edge of Starks tower, but it was pretty nice.
The stars were pretty visible, and it was beautiful.
The moonlight made the ice on the lake glisten, too.

I didn't know what exactly to talk about, now that I'm actually just sitting here.
"So," I begin, "What's Ass guard like?"
He sighs, but smirks a bit.
"It's Asgard." He correct.
"Sure, same thing."
"Well, it's quite peaceful on Asgard, nothing like here. Of course, there are often threats to Asgard, but it never gets destroyed by them. Everybody gets along nicely."
"That sounds nice." I say.
"It truly is. Perhaps you could see it one day."
"Yeah, maybe."
"I may only be a wanted person on Asgard, but that's quite alright."
"Well, you can't exactly go to a place where you're wanted." I chuckle.
"Of course I can. Like I've said, poison is always an option."
I laugh a bit, "You can't poison an entire kingdom."
"I can."
"You can't."
"Is that a challenge?"
"What? No, no. That's not a challenge. Do not poison everyone."
He smirks a bit, and looks back toward the sky.
I had no idea what else to ask.
Or say.
I hate being in this kind of situation, with nothing to speak about.
"So, to pass time, wanna ask deepish questions about each other?" I ask.
That's the best I've got.
"I suppose so." He answers
"Great, I'll go first," I begin, "What's a goal you had, that failed?"
Loki smiles a bit, "To be my brothers equal."
"Yeah? Well if it means anything, you're better than your brother." I chuckle.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
He clears his throat, "Is it my turn?"
"Yeah, that's how it works."
"Okay, well, do you believe it is easier to hate or love?"
I take a moment to think about this one.
"I don't know what past me would say, but it's so much easier to hate someone than love them."
"Why so?"
"Well, it's easy to hate someone, right? Because of what they've done to you? And to love someone is difficult. I don't remember the last time I truly loved. I don't even know if I have."
Loki nods at the answer.

Time skips by, and I decide to ask the last question.
"Final question, who's the most important person to you?"
"Myself." He answers.
"Yourself?"
"That is what I said, correct?"
I chuckle a bit, but try to keep a straight face.

I, finally, begin to notice how cold it actually is out here.
I shiver, as the wind picks up
Loki turns to me, noticing.
"Would you like to go back to the cabin?" Loki asks
I nod, and we both stand up to go to the motorcycle.

Quickly, we make it back to the cabin, and we go back inside.
I immediately grab Willie, the sock monkey, and take off my boots.
I also, immediately, flop onto the bed.
I was tired now.
And it was 3:42am.
As soon as my head hits the pillow, my eyes close.
I know Loki got onto the other side of the bed.
But, I didn't look.
I was too exhausted now.
"Goodnight." I hear Loki say.
But I'm already drifting off to sleep.
And right before I fall asleep, I could feel a blanket being lifted over me, since I forgot about it.
