chapter eight

As I was making my way over to the sound I felt an arm grab me. I was about to punch when I looked and saw it was Teru. "Princess, stay here I donʻt want anything bad to happen to you." with a hint of concern and care in his voice he gently kissed me and slipped something into my hand. I looked down and it was...A PISTOL?! Do I really have to go back to doing these things... Memories started to flood my memory to several years ago. I donʻt like to talk about this but Iʻm pretty sure my parents were in a gang. I was 10 at the time and my dad was really caring for being in a gang. He taught me how to use a gun and hand-to-hand combat. My mother was really strict, sheʻd always push me around like Cinderella. She still taught me how to be a "proper lady" and how to cook and all. They werenʻt really home most of the time, so I played with our guard dog. Kikenʻna never really liked anybody, not even my parents, just me.

One time when I was at home with my parents people started to fire guns and find anyway to get into our house. I was told to hide and thatʻs exactly what I did. I heard gunshots and as I looked behind me I saw my parents fall to the ground. When I turned back around to face forward, an arm grabbed me. I was dragged outside but luckily I bit his hand and ran away. Ever since that day I changed my name and lived by myself. I never did like school so I just practiced what my parents taught me until I could get a job. And then all this happened one day several years after my parents died. Not that I donʻt like this type of life, itʻs so thrilling. Just having this pistol in my hand has just flooded in memories again, memories I suppressed and forgotten for a long time. I didnʻt like this...this feeling. I needed to do something so I went outside and saw the fights and heard the gunshots. I made sure not to hit any of the boys from "our" gang and shot. Shot every...single...one of them, probably a total of ten at the most. They all collapsed and everyone looked at me. It was quite awkward until I broke the silence, "Ha, you guys looked like you needed a little help." with a smirk on my face. I got rushed with questions like, howʻd you learn to shoot like that, how were you so fast, and teach me how you do that. I felt someone from behind me grab my arm and shot my abdomen. Last thing I heard was a gunshot and as I saw the man who shot me fall to the ground, it looked like I was in sync with him. Teru rushed to my side "Y/N!!! Y/N, stay with me!" My eyes grew heavy until they finally shut.

I woke up and felt really heavy. I opened my eyes to see Teru looking down at me with a big smile on his face. "Y/n-chan! I thought I was going to lose you, but you finally woke up and I get to see your beautiful eyes again!" he leaned over and gave me a tight but gentle hug. "Okay Yuji, no need to get all warm and fuzzy now." I said with a small smile and a giggle "Anyway, how long was I out?" "Oh, Iʻd say about...mmmm...two and a half days." I looked at him with shock, "WhAt?!, I was out for that long?" "Princess, you got shot in the abdomen. Do you really think youʻll only be out for a few hours? You also lost a lot of blood." I slowly sat up gaining what strength I had to face him "Do you remember what happened?" he asked coming to sit in the seat next to me. I shook my head and for a moment his face lit up. He began to explain everything, "Well the other gang showed up here so I told you to go hide. We started fighting and all and then you came out and shot every...single...guy. I didnʻt know you could do that and Iʻm still surprised about that. We all were really surprised. We thought you shot down every single one but there was one guy behind you while we were in a group hug and you got shot in the abdomen. I shot him in the head and I rushed over to you and your eyes were starting to shut and I told you to stay with me but then they shut and havenʻt opened since ʻtil right now." he said running out of breath "So, we had one of our guys help fix you up and now youʻre all better." he kissed my forehead and was walking out the door. "Iʻm pretty sure youʻre fine now and walk on your own, but if anything just let me know and Iʻll carry you to the ends of the world~" he winked and then left, closing the door behind him. What the hell have I got myself into
