Y/N's Pov
I was at Doses shopping for a basket for the contest. I was looking though the baskets.
"Not that one," I heard Tristan say.
I turned around.
"You get no say in the basket," I told him.
"Well I have to bid on it," Tristan told me.
"And you have to eat what's inside of it, and you get no say on that either," I told him.
"Hey," He told me.
"Yeah?" I asked him.
"Is there anyone behind me?" He asked.
"Nope," I told him.
He smiled and leaned down to kiss me. I pulled back.
"What?" He asked me.
It was Jess.
"Jess," Tristan said bitterly.
"Sorry to intrude," Jess told him.
"Why did you?" Tristan asked.
"Well your having your vertical form from here to return at point in front of the hot glue," Jess told him.
"Oh," I said moving out of the way.
"Well that's not a perfect place to be doing in front of but," Jess said smirking.
"Here's your glue," Tristan said handing the glue to Jess.
"Thanks, as you were," Jess said walking away.
"I really hate that guy," Tristan told me.
"He didn't do anything," I told him.
"He's here, he's breathing, that's enough," Tristan told me.
"I really wish you two could start over," I told him.
"Why?" He asked.
"Because he lives here, and I live here, and you are here a lot, and we'll run into him, I just think it would make things a lot easier," I told Tristan.
"Um, I'm fine with the whole hating him thing, thank you," Tristan told me.
"I think it's a waist of energy," I said crossing my arms.
"You know, I'll have a power block," He told me.
"Fine, forget it," I told him.
"Well, I should go, are we still on for tonight?" He asked me.
"I don't know, I might be baking," I told him.
"I'll pick you up at seven," He told me.
At the bid a basket~~
"Remember people! Good things come in small sizes!" Taylor told us as he showed my basket.
"Let's start the bidding at.. 3 dollars!" Taylor told us.
"Hey!" I said offend.
"5 dollars," Tristan said.
"He's good, good, very good," Mom told me.
"5 dollars, do I hear 10?" Taylor told us.
"10 dollars!" I heard Jess yell.
"Okay! 10 dollars, do I hear 15?" He asked us.
"20!" Jess yelled again.
"20 dollars, do I hear 25?" Taylor aksed.
"30!" Tristan shouted.
"Okay, you boy's don't seem understand how this thing works," Taylor told them.
"40 dollars," Jess said.
"50 dollars," Tristan said.
"Exuse me, have you boy's seen how tiny this thing is?" Taylor asked holding up my basket.
"75," Jess said.
"80!" Tristan yelled back at Jess.
"Tristan doesn't have 80 dollars in his pocket to spend on a basket," I told mom.
"90 dollars," Jess said.
"90 dollars!" Taylor told us.
"You know, I don't think he'll have to," Mom told me.
"Okay, we've got 90 dollars going once, going twice, and Sold to the nice hoodlum in the back!" Taylor shouted.

"Okay, we've got 90 dollars going once, going twice, and Sold to the nice hoodlum in the back!" Taylor shouted

"I'm trying to think in which scenario this would be construed as positive," Mom told me.
"Well?" I asked her.
"Well, no one's head is on fire," She told me.
"Ugh, I better go talk to Tristan," I told mom.
"Need help?" She asked.
"No, I'm just officially not a fan of uncapability," I told her.
"I understand, good luck," Mom told me.
I nodded and went over to Tristan.
"I'm going to kill him," Tristan told me.
"Tristan, he's probably just fooling around," I said to him.
"No, he was messing with me," Tristan told me.
"No-," He cut me off.
"He was messing with me, and it's the last time, I swear to God," Tristan said madly.
"Tristan, calm down," I told him.
"Why would he do this?" He aksed me.
"Maybe he was hungry?" I asked.
"He's trying to make me crazy," Tristan told me.
"Just don't let it," I told him as Jess walked over.
"I gotta tell ya, all the nutty farmy shindig cook ups, I gotta say this one wasn't half bad," Jess told Tristan.
"Glad you enjoyed it," Tristan told him.
"Yes, I did. So shall we?" Jess aksed me.
"Shall we what?" Tristan asked.
"Shall we go," Jess responded.
"Go where?" He asked Jess
"Go eat," Jess told him.
"Excuse me?" Tristan asked
"The person who buys the basket, earns the company of the person who makes the basket," Jess explained.
"Basket," Jess said waving the basket. "Basket maker," He pointed to me.
"Guy who didn't bring enough money," Jess pointed to Tristan.
"You think this is funny?" Tristan asked Jess.
"Well  it's not a Lenny Bruce routine, but," Jess said.
"Bye Jess," Tristan told Jess.
"Oh, where you goin?" Jess aksed.
"Your the one who's going," Tristan told him.
"Well as soon as Y/N's ready," Jess said glancing at me.
"She's  not goin with you," Tristan told Jess.
"Really? Is that true?" Jess asked me.
"Yes it's true," Tristan told him.
"Excuse me, Edger Bergen, I think I'd like Charlie McCarthy to talk now," Jess said.
"Shut up," Tristan told Jess.
"Tristan.." I calmly said.
"What?!" He snapped.
"Well.." I started.
"Oh common," Tristan said.
"It's traditional," I told him.
"I don't believe this," Tristan told me.
"It's true, me and my mom have been doing this every since we moved here," I told him.
"So buck tradition," Tristan told me.
"Are you kidding? Do you remember how mad Taylor was when I couldn't go to the Turkey calling?" I asked him.
"This isn't school, your not getting graded," He told me.
"Just don't make this into a big thing," I pleaded.
"Don't go," Tristan told me.
"Oh geez man, she's not shippen off to Nam," Jess told him.
"You so need to shut up now," Tristan told Jess.
"Look Tristan, it's a picnic, we'll sit, and eat, and then it'll be over," I said to Tristan.
"No," He insisted.
"What do you think is going to happen?" I aksed him.
"Yeahh, I'd like to hear this one also," Jess told him.
"I don't want you to go," Tristan told me.
"Tristan-" He cut me off.
"Fine, forget it! Go!" He shouted at me.
He started to walk away.
"Please don't walk away like that!" I yelled after him.
"Sorry I do a silly walk, but I don't feel very John Cleese right now," Tristan said walking away.
"Tristan! This isn't my fault! I didn't ask him to do that, I didn't tell him to do that! Your my boyfriend, I would never do anything to hurt you!" I shouted after him.
"Yeah? Well your doing it right now," Tristan told me.
I watched as Tristan walked away.
"You know there's nothing there," Jess told me.
"Yes, I know," I told him.
"You going after him?" Jess aksed me.
"Not right now," I said turning to Jess.
"So where you wanna eat?" Jess asked me.
"I don't care," I told him.
"Okay," He said.
He started walking and I followed. He started walking into the bridge.
"Where you goin?" I asked him.
"I thought you didn't care," He told me.
"I'm not jumping in the lake," I told him.
"No underwater dining," He said smirking.
I smiled and followed him on the bridge.
"Not what?" I asked him.
"Now we sit," He told me.
"Here?" I asked.
"Yep," He responded.
"On the bridge, that's where we're gonna eat?" I asked him.
"Yep," He told me.
We sat down.
"You know, I really like this place," Jess told me.
"Wow, a place in Stars Hollow that you actually like?" I asked him.
He nodded.
"Hey, have you ever read Hemingway?" Jess asked me.
"Once, it didn't stick though," I told him.
"You should try again," He told me.
"Fine, I will give the painful Ernest Hemingway another chance," I told him.
"You know, Ernest only has lovely things to say about you," He told me.

"You know, Ernest only has lovely things to say about you," He told me

I smiled.
"So.. are we going to eat?" He asked.
I nodded. He opened my basket.
"Woow, there is not one thing in here that I would remotely consider eating," He told me looking though the basket.
"Well I didn't make it for you, I made it for Tristan," I told him.
"Tristan would have eaten this?" He asked.
"Yes he would have," I told him.
He opened it and grabbed a fork. He took a bite. I laughed slightly.
"Tristan is an idiot," He told me.
I laughed.
After a while of talking~~
We were talking and I realized how much I liked talking to him.
"Hey, I'm hungry," He told me.
"Me too," I told him.
"You wanna get a pizza?" He asked.
"Yeah, sure," I said and we stood up.
He grabbed the stuff and we went to get a pizza. After we got the pizza we sat down in the gazebo and started eating.
"Do you love him?" Jess aksed me.
"Tristan?" I aksed and he nodded.
I thought for a moment. Then I shook my head.
"No," I told him.
He nodded. After we finished eating we just talked and talked until it was dark outside, and Jess walked me home.
