The Element of Suspense

Writing suspense is a matter of controlling information-how much you reveal, and when and how you reveal it. While every thriller novel will have a central, overarching storyline that seeks to answer a sole dramatic question, that question is built on smaller moments that carry the reader through and sustain their interest along the way.

Writing suspense is a matter of controlling information- Basically, it means nga na balance and conquer the informations you're going to put bago mo sila i-execute. I've already explained this in "the contract" section.

"Begin with the end in mind." What does this quote mean? It means, ilagay mo iyong sarili mo sa posisyon ng reader/audience, then ask yourself questions to satisfy yourself. Magugustuhan kaya nila 'to? Ano kayang mararamdaman nila kapag nilagay ko 'to? Interesting ba itong scene na 'to? In this case, handa ka na sa mga maaaring itanong ng readers, you're prepared for the bombs' explosion. Suspense is a necessary element for the readers to stay with your characters. Put red herrings as well, in this case, some little infos will mislead your characters away from the plot twist kaya sa dulo lahat ng hula nila mali, kagulat-gulat kumbaga.
