Chapter 14: First Power(1)

"A city?! Then can we buy some new clothes in there?!"

"Uh, sure? Why did you ask?"

Michael and Josh looked at each other and nodded they then looked at Luke with sparkling eyes.

"We want to buy a coat like yours!"

"Yes! I want to be awesome and cool like you!"

Luke looked at them with surprise and peeked at Spencer. He saw him looking at Selena and him with an unhappy expression. Luke felt kinda bad for him. He then answered the kids.

"There are no coats like this for kids. You should all grow up first and then I'll buy you one. For now, you should ask your older brother Spencer to pick you some good and cool-looking clothes. I bet he could pick a good one for you."

"Really?"

"Yes."

Michael and Josh then jumped from their seats and sat beside Spencer. Spencer looked shocked and looked at Luke. Luke just gave him a thumbs up. Spencer ignored it and paid attention to his siblings.

Luke looked at the two grown men and women paying attention to the kids chattering and sighed.

'Finally, some peace. Maybe I should dump the kids to Spencer and Selena like this in the future. They both seemed to like it when the children are paying attention to them.'

He then continued to eat his unfinished soup. A few minutes later, they all finished eating their food and stood up. Luke then heard Nash's voice.

• If I grow up. Will you buy me clothes too?

Luke then whispered.

"Yes, yes I'll buy you whatever you want."

Nash fell silent and Luke felt him sitting on his shoulders. The group returned their bowls and are prepared to leave.

The group is now in front of the village entrance, the fog was gone and the village looked brighter than before.

They seemed to be still under construction but the atmosphere is good. The villagers gathered around and the person who seemed to be the mayor shakes hands with us.

"Thank you for saving us, We will never forget your kindness. And of course, you too Saint Selena."

Selena frowned slightly at the word 'saint' but managed to pull off a holy-looking smile. The villagers almost teared up but managed to hold it in. The mayor then said something in a sad voice.

"It's a shame that we didn't properly send miss Jane off. I didn't know that as soon as she woke up she will immediately leave."

Spencer and Selena made an excuse earlier to the villagers explaining Jane's absence. It was that Jane immediately left the village after waking up to receive treatment in the nearby city.

"Ah yes, Jane needed some treatment so she needed to go early."

"Is that so? Well, there is nothing we could do then."

Luke just blankly stared at the scene and finally turns around, the group followed behind him and started to walk away.

They heard the villagers' goodbyes but they didn't look back... Except for the kids of course. The kids waved at the villagers while walking away, after that they all stick beside Luke and held the end of his long coat. Selena then started to speak

"We're going to Ceb City next? It is located in the Northeast part of the kingdom. It'll take at least two days by carriage. Should I call a carriage?"

"No need."

"What?"

"We'll run."

Selena looked at Luke with wide eyes and saw the children looking excited. Spencer just sighed and shakes his head. Selena asked in a confused voice.

"Run? That will take us much more time to get there if we run!"

"It's not impossible. These kids are mid-grade mages."

"W-what? Mid-grade?"

"Yes, and Spencer is a highest-grade mage."

"Oh, my lord!"

Selena looked at the kids and Spencer with wide eyes while holding her chest. But Luke is not done yet.

"Besides, we have Nash here."

"Nash?"

"That's me. Nash Clodwal."

A voice of a three-year-old could be heard and Selena felt like her eyes are going to pop out of her eye sockets. She saw a black fluffy looking being looking at her from Luke's shoulder. Selena's jaw dropped while stammering.

"I-is that what I think it is...?"

Luke is about to answer but the children were faster. Michael, Josh, Lily, and Jessa said unbelievable things to Selena with happy faces.

"He's our brother!"

"He is a powerful younger brother."

"He always plays with us and likes candy!"

"He is also one of the people who saved the village!"

Selena looked at the happy children and thought.

'My God, what did I signed myself up into? This is crazy...'

Selena saw Nash turn invisible again and sighed. She then looked at Luke, who leads the group.

'He's crazy too. Leading a bunch of powerful kids but he himself is not powerful. I couldn't even feel a lick of mana from him.'

Selena looked at Luke's back and heard him said something.

"Let's go."

Selena felt a powerful spell being cast on her body and her body became lighter. She then saw the kids, Spencer, and Luke kick off the ground and started to run at a terrifying speed. Selena frowned and followed behind them.
