Chapter 14: First Power(1)

As he walks to Spencer the whispers become louder. Luke frowned and hurriedly walked towards Spencer and then put the tray down on the table.

Bam!

Spencer looked at Luke like he was rude and scolded him.

"Why did you put the tray down like that? I'm eating you know?"

Luke glared at Spencer and sat in the chair opposite to him. He then shot a question.

"What the hell did you tell the villagers?"

Spencer looked at him with a confused expression and casually answered.

"I just told them what happened, that's all."

"No, what is that I hear earlier? 'Her companions said that Jane planned to save the village from the beginning'? What kind of bullshit is that?"

"Why? Isn't that what you planned to do?"

"Absolutely not!"

"Then what is it that you planned to do?"

"To just save Selena!"

"And what did you do next?"

"...Fought the scrawny dude."

"Then...?"

Luke frowned.

"Okay! I admit I fought the scrawny dude and broke the spell. But that is not enough to call me the Savior of the village! What about you guys? Didn't you also helped?"

"We've already received so many praises this past few weeks. It's quite uncomfortable but the children seemed to like it though."

Luke looked at the children who are eating their soup while nodding their heads. Lily, Nash, Jessa, Josh, and Michael all talked at the same time.

"Every day, the villagers would give me candies. I share some with Nash because he seemed to like it.

• Don't worry, I always clean my teeth after I eat the candies.

"The villagers also handed us flowers! They are very pretty."

"Being praised for saving someone is like having a big achievement.".

"Yeah! I felt good!"

Luke stared blankly at the kids and sighed. He ruffled Lily's hair who is beside him and thought.

'They're just kids.,'

Luke thought that they were still children to know the true horror of being famous and just ate his soup. He secretly passed a bowl of soup under the table and continued to eat the soup after that. He then heard Nash's voice.

• It tastes good.

Luke nodded in satisfaction and continued to eat quietly, he then stopped eating when someone holding a tray of food interrupted them.

Luke looked at the person who interrupted them and saw Selena holding a tray with a bowl of soup in it. She then asked.

"Can I eat with all of you?"

Luke stared at her for a moment before answering.

"Yeah, sure. We don't mind."

"Great."

Selena then sat beside Spencer and across to Luke. She then looked toward Luke who is quietly eating his soup. She then said something that made Luke choke.

"The God of Light wants me to come with you."

"Hmmph! Cough! Cough!"

"Brother?! Here have some water!"
