Acceptance

You quickly walk outside to embrace the white winter wonder land
To see Sero, standing by the door holding a letter. You smile and start to walk over, only to see a small pretty girl walk over to him. She looked up at him smiling and her face was clearly a shade of red as she took his hand. You feel your heart sink, and you stop in your tracks. You feel tears in your eyes as you hear her say four shattering words.
"I like you, alot."
You quietly stand there neither having noticed you. "What is this tight feeling in my chest?" You wonder sadly.  Sero scratches his neck, as she continues. "I know I'm just in general studies and I've rarely seen you, but I really do like you a lot. Please accept my feelings and go out with me!" She says smiling. You don't move, or even say anything. You listen your heart beating a mile a minutes. "I'm... Sorry. I can't return your feelings. I kinda have my heart set on another girl. And only her." He says pulling his hand away. "I hope you can understand." He says handing the girl back his letter, who clearly looks distraught. You stand there, relieved but you felt bad for the poor girl who looked upset.  Sero let out a sigh, and turned to look at you. You tilt your head and say "I'm sorry, I just wanted to come and enjoy the snow... I didn't mean to overhear." You say fiddiling with the ballerina necklace Sero had given you. Sero smiles as he walks over and says "Heh it's alright. I'm kind of glad you heard that, actually." You look up and say "Uh, why's that?" Sero starts to say something
Only to be hit with a snowball. "HAHA PAYBACK FOR YESTERDAY SOYSAUCE!!" Bakugo yells standing a few feet away. You take the chance at Sero being distracted, and walk away quickly. You calm your racing heart, and make a cloud. Just outside the snowy dorms you  float up up up. Until your above the skyline. You sigh and think
"Why did I feel that way? I don't get it. I've only been here a few months now but still. I only got that same feeling once in my chest, and it was ages ago." ~You hug your knees as you recall a flashback~
You sit in your middle school history class studying a thick history book. Finals were no joke to you, especially taking advanced courses. "C'mon, you don't have to study with her!" You hear a high pitched voice say. You look up, and see a blushing girl holding the arm of your at the time crush pulling him away from your desk. "I really dislike this." You think feeling your chest tighten and slightly angry. "Why do I feel this way? Can I be jealous? No, it can't be " you watch expecting your crush to leave with her. But instead, he pulls away from the girls grasp and says "No thank you, I really promised (Y/N) we would study together. And I like hanging out with her so if you excuse me." The girl pouts and says "Why? She's not even that pretty or fun to be around " at this point you quietly stare daggers at the girl and say "Why don't you leave us to study? It's clear he doesn't want to hang around someone like you." The girl gasps and storms off. Your crush looks at you and says "Thanks. She's been following me all morning." You only feel even more angry and tight as you say "She's seems a bit of an airhead. And not to mention mean." He nods and says "She's more of a bitch if you ask me, but you were trying to be nice by not calling her one." you sit there appalled by his blunt words, but nod in agreement "In so many words, yeah. I'm not the biggest fan of her either." He chuckles and says "I like being around you a lot more." You heart skipped a beat as you said "Thanks, I like hanging out with you too. Now let's start studying."
~End of flashback~
You feel your eyes water a bit at the memory. But you don't feel like crying, it was the last day in the year after all. A very long and dark year for you. "It's like the more I deny it the more it feels like I do indeed have a crush on Hanta Sero." You think. You float down your feelings still a flurry. You walk into the dorms feeling rather cold, but with your thoughts gathered. You see Sero pacing nervously in the common room, Kaminari and Jirou at his heels. "Oh man I think I messed up." You hear Sero say nevously. "What happened?" You say. Everyone hops around and looks at you "(Y/N)! Oh there you are! I was worried when you walked off. I would understand if your mad at me " Sero says a surprising shade of red. "Mad at you? Why would I be mad? You turned down a girl honestly." Sero chuckles and says "Wait your not mad at me? I thought maybe you were upset or something when you walked off " you smile and say "No I'm not upset. I just kinda needed to clear my head about something." Sero sighs relived, and you hear Jirou pull you aside as she asks "What happened? All I found out was he turned down a girl and you heard everything " you nod and whisper "I did see that happen. And he mentioned something about being glad I heard him turn her down? Then Bakugo hit him with a snowball and I walked off and thought a lot. I... Do have a crush on him.." you mutter barely audible. Jirou whispers back "Finally! You accept it " you sigh and smile saying "Yeah yeah just don't tell Mina. I don't really think I can take anymore teasing." You smile, and await for the new year with your friends. Soon the clock nearly hits midnight, and everyone was outside awaiting a fireworks show.  Counting down your standing next to Sero. "10... 9... 8...7...6" "A fresh start" you think smiling "5...4...3-" you feel a hand slide into your own. You look down, then next to you
Sero was holding your hand.
"...2...1 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" Everyone screams around you. But you barely hear it over your own heart and the smile forming on your face. "Uh, happy new year (Y/N) he says as the fireworks go off right before your eyes.
You smile and say "Happy new year  Sero." You smile and hold his hand tightly.
