CHAPTER 12

                “Gray!!” Gia flung her arms around him while trying to stop her tears. Hindi niya alam kung ano ang nangyayari, kung bakit nandito siya o anong nangyari sa kanya.

                 “Anak ko. Mabuti naman at gising ka na.” He surveyed the room, trying to orient himself. There are contraptions attached all over his body. His family and the doctors and nurses were all over him. Tama naaalala niya, he was injured in a shoot out that time. But how long has he been asleep, he had no idea.

                “Anong nangyari sa akin?” He asked still confused.

                “Ilang linggo ka nang hindi nagigising.” Gin appeared from his side. Kung ganoon mukhang napuruhan siya, he thought. Kinapa niya ang tiyan niya to feel the bandages surrounding it, the pain was almost gone, the scrape on his face has healed, no other scrape marks are left, sigurado talagang matagal siyang natutulog kung ganito na ang kondisyon ng mga sugat niya.

                “Nasaan si Red? Gusto ko siyang makita.” He said when he noticed when she was not around.

                “Kuya…” Gian wanted to tell him something but he hesitated, sending him doubts.

                “Namiss ako nun kahit hindi niya sinasabi. Nasaan na siya?” Everyone on the room was silent. Doubts and fear are now forming on his chest.

                “Sumagot kayo! Nasaan siya?! Anong nangyari sa kanya?! Red! Mahal ko nasaan ka?!” He struggled with his contraptions, hinablot niya lahat at kinalas mula sa katawan niya.

                 “Anak…” Don Miguel tapped his son’s shoulders with a consoling look.

                “Dad. Sabihin mo sa akin ang totoo. May nangyari bang masama sa kanya?” He needed to see her. No, he wanted to see, to make sure she was alright, that nothing bad has happened to her. Naalala niya, she was also badly injured at that time.

                “Wala, walang nangyaring masama sa kanya.” Don Miguel answered incongruously with a sad look and a lifeless pair of eyes. Gia sobbed beside him signaling him that something really did happen to her, and he wanted to know.

                “Anak...Alam na ni Red ang lahat.” He  gave Gray a familiar silver ring, their ring.

                “B-bakit Dad?! Bakit niyo sinabi sa kanya?” He clenched the ring tightly.

                “She deserve to know the truth about her.” Oo, alam din niya ang lahat tungkol kay Red. And he planned to tell her after they settle everything with Gerardo pero…why did his father, after trusting him not to tell her, do it to him? Alam niya baka kahit anong oras, pagnalaman ni Red ang totoo may posibilidad na…mawala siya sa kanya. At yun ang hindi niya matatanggap.

                 “Hwag niyong sabihin—“ He don’t want to think about the worst things that could happen.
