"Okay girls periodt!" Winter cheered Alaina and Naya on as they danced together.

It turned out that the party Evan was talking about was actually some sort of cultural bonfire party. Whatever it was, it was really colourful and lit as hell. Alaina didn't know what the hell they put in their juice but it made her feel like she could literally fly to the moon and back.

Evan was supposed to be watching her because he knew how she could get when she was drunk but he had lost her because he was so wrapped up with 'the stockbroker'.

One of the dancers had put her hat on Alaina's head which only hyped her to dance more. In all honesty, she was trying to have as much fun as she could so she wouldn't think about Danny and his stupid insecurities.

"I think that's enough alcohol for you" Evan finally swooped in, taking her cup away from her before she could take another sip.

"Noooo" she whined, drunkenly.

"Yes. We needa get you back to the house"

"But ion wanna go back" she slurred.

"Too bad"

_

"You can go back to the party if you want, y'know?" Alaina tried to get Evan to leave. He had personally taken her home and ensured that she didn't have any more drinks and now he wouldn't leave. He insisted that he would watch her for the rest of the night.

"I couldn't possibly leave you all alone here" he shook his head at the idea.

"Come on. I'll be fine. I ain't even going nowhere" she tried to convince him.

"You sure?"

"Yes"

"You gon' stay right there?"

"Yeah"

"Okay" he smiled and just like that, he was gone, back to the party.

"Yeah no. I need water". Alaina stood up from the bed and stayed still for a minute, trying to steady her head. It felt heavy as hell but she was determined to get a glass of water.

She softly tiptoed down the stairs and into the kitchen, even though she was hiding from absolutely nobody. She grabbed a bottle of water from the refrigerator and greedily gulped it down.

"Lay?" A voice asked from her and she jumped, squeaking a bit.

"Roddy? What are you doing here?" She asked. "You're supposed to be at the party"

"I didn't go" he told her.

Right. It had skipped her mind that he had opted out of going to the party. He said he wasn't in the mood for loud music.

"Really? Oh my God. You missed a lot. The food was great. Like great. And the juice was amazing. Tasted a lil weird. Someone prolly spiked it but it was still amazing. And everywhere was so colorful and the dancing was-"

"Are you drunk?" He asked as he smiled at how she talked about the party. He was glad she was having fun.

"Maybe just a little"

"Okay. You need so- is that-" he looked down at the necklace on her neck and she did too.

"Is that the locket I gave you?"

"Yeah. It stay on me. Ion ever go nowhere without it" she revealed, opening the locket. "I remember when we used to be so happy"

"What changed?" Roddy asked.

"Shit. Shit changed Roddy. We had to face reality"she said, still looking down at the necklace. At that point, she had sobered up a little.

"Do you ever wish we ended differently?"

"All the time" she whispered, finally making eye contact with him. Her breath stopped and her chest tightened. She knew she'd regret what she was about to do later in the morning but right now, she couldn't care less.

Standing on her tiptoes, she gently placed her lips on his.
