After spending hours writing a new chapter and cross-checking before I finally update, majority won't vote and those who do won't even comment 😫😫

Fadekemi climbed down from the bike gently at the gate of the expensive looking estate. She looked around and the houses felt like it was cut out of a hollywood movie.

Her dad walked faster and she had to keep up with his pace while holding her bag tightly to her head. She prayed not to run into any of her classmates or worst appear on Ofofospot with her looking like this.

Her father stopped in front of a white gate and he knocked loudly before the gate opened to reveal the gateman, an Hausa man with kolanut stained teeth.

"You don bring the girl for madam abi. She don dey wait you since morning. Pray make she even collect am for your hand because e be like say she wan call one agnecy like this" The gateman gushed and Fade's dad hissed.

"Commot for road jàre. Na gate be your work and I no know wetin concern you with me and madam matter" He fired back and the man recoiled. He opened the gate wider and Fade walked in with her dad. Fade greeted him but he didn't even reply or maybe he didn't hear her.

His dad rang the bell and waited for someone to tell them to come in before he opened the door. They removed their slippers at the entrance before walking inside barefooted.

"Matthew, I've told you several times not be removing your slippers at the entrance again. Be doing like bushman" the person laughed and Fade turned to look at her dad. He looked nothing like the monster that hits her mom instead he looked like a slave waiting for his master's approval.

"How are you baby girl?" The woman asked her this time and she smiled before replying fine. The woman walked to the empty couch and she sat down holding a glass of wine in her left hand.

She passed a brown envelope towards her father and one look at it, one could tell it contained money. Her father smiled displaying all his 32 as he pocketed the money. He turned to face Fade.

"If you misbehave here, i will show you hell fire" he warned and the woman laughed waving him off.

"Matthew, rule your house however you like and stay out of mine. Bye bye. Fade, please feel at home. I will call my daughter to come and take you to your room" The woman replied again and her father nodded before he walked out without even saying goodbye.

The woman walked towards the stairs before screaming and Fade must admit that she had a very loud voice.

"Chidinmaaaaa"

"Maaaaaaa" another voice replied, probably her daughter.

"Come and help the girl carry her bag to her room before you two prepare dinner. Your dad will be home soon" She shouted back and she saw someone coming down the stairs slowly while pressing her phone.

"Ahn ahn, Fadekemi" Katerina called in surprise and Fade's heart dropped. One thing she was sure of here was that her life is going to be a living hell.

"You two know each other?" Her stepmom asked in surprise and they both nodded simultaenously.

"She's the scholarship student in EC for this year" Katerina filled her stepmom in before grabbing Fade's bag upstairs.

"Thank God then, school fees is out of it" She replied before opening another door and stepping out of the house.

"Do you people eat onions?" Fade asked while rinsing the onions at the tap, preparing to slice inside the rice.

Katerina nodded while viewing something on her phone and Fade sliced the onions inside the rice.

"Look Fade, I want you to be comfortable with me, forget that you're working for my stepmom or not. I might not have been the best person to you but I'm sorry for everything. I'm trying to be a nice person" Katerina told her with a smile and Fade was shocked.

Low-key she couldn't trust Katerina yet because that girl has never shown her a nice side before so this Katerina is surprising. She saw her apology to Kim Kiki on Ofofospot but she doubted if it was genuine.

"Have you added egg to the rice or you don't use to eat egg?" Katerina asked and she shook her head to say No.

Katerina rinsed three raw eggs and she added them to the rice before she went back to sit on the counter.

"One more thing, Stay away from my steo brother, that boy is a pervert and he won't hesitate to take advantage of you. Don't give him face at all oh. If you report him to his mum, she won't believe you oh. He's her only child" Katerina whispered and Fade nodded.

What has her father gotten her into?
