The rest split up to find the other half of their small crew. Luther had went to grab Vanya (which everyone took as a surprise since it was a very random pair) while Eight felt like she needed to go with him and finally meet the old version of Akahnitamud - until she felt like it would overwhelm her too much and decided to not do so. She was supposed to tag along with Five, but the boy had insisted that she stayed back so she could rest herself.

That led to where she was now, in a sofa beside Diego, while Daniel and June sat on the other side. Over the few minutes, Diego had started talking to the pair in an attempt to forget about Lila, and he was really fascinated by her powers.

Maybe he was. Maybe he wasn't. Eight couldn't read Diego if her life depended on it, so she had just given up.

"So, you can steal my powers? Right now?" he asked in wonder, leaning against the girl. Back at the Academy, Reginald had instilled in their minds that they were these extremely special untouchable beings (which, to be fair, got into their heads) so seeing a girl who could just steal it in a flash was both scary and awesome at the same time.

June nodded, concentrating her mind and absorbing all his powers for a second. All of a sudden, Diego felt extremely weak as June grabbed a knife that was on the table and threw it into the apple that Elliot was currently munching.

"I was eating that." the man mumbled, sadly putting down the ruined apple. June's eyes glowed once again, making Diego feel powerful once more.

For some reason, Eight felt a pang of pity for the man (which she hated, getting attached to random people was bad since they need to be back in 2020 soon) and turned to the kitchen, made an apple float, and landed it on his hands.

"But I don't understand, when we're you born?" All Diego knew that the people born on October 1, 1989 were the only people who possessed these abilities. It was impossible that there was more.

"I forgot when I was born. It's been so long. All I remember was me and Daniel being lab rats in Korea, and there were a hundred more children with us too. They bought us to the United States to bring us to Area 51 since Daniel and I were the strongest in our batch, but we escaped." June shrugged, leaning against her chair like it was the most casual thing to say in a conversation.

Elliot let out a loud gasp when he heard this. He knew there was something fishy about Area 51, and the pair had just confirmed it.

Eight's eyes widened at this new found information. "You were an experiment?"

Daniel looked up from the banana he was eating. "Yeah. They weren't pretty though." he cringed, remembering the memories of him being forced to swallow pills as a child. And things that were worse. Much worse.

The door suddenly banged open, but no one left the couch. Diego was still pretty surprised by the new found information. Luther and Vanya were making their way up the staircase.

Eight let out an awkward cough as she spotted Vanya, remembering the words the woman had said to her the day before. Vanya seemed to take notice of this as she made her way towards Eight, her eyes apologetic. "Look, Karina. I am so sorry about what happened. I realized that I should've never judged you since I don't remember anything about the past, I had no right to judge you like I did. I'm sorry." it sounded like she was really sincere, so she decided to accept it. Besides, it wasn't that bad compared to what other people had done to her.

"You have a name now? That's so cool." Luther told her from his side, making the girl roll her eyes. She still had a bit of a spite towards Luther, but she was extremely thankful that he wasn't as annoying as he used to be.
