**Chapter- 15. The Power of Friendship (part 2).**

"What about dinner guys?" I ask. 

"I will cook dinner for you guys." Mel says excitedly. 

"Yay!" Heath and I squeal. Mel is one helluva cook. Everyone who has tasted her food loves it. 

I hand the house keys to Heath and tell them to go on in and that I would park my car in the garage and come in. As I was opening my front door I turn back and see that the lights are off in Vivian's home.

I just shrug it off. 

I enter the kitchen and see Mel cooking up dinner already and Shiro licking Heather's hand. No sign of my parents as usual. I see a sticky note on the fridge which reads: 

Going to Germany for a few days. Call me as soon as you get back. -Mom. 

Seriously? Why don't they call me before leaving? Cell phones are for communication right? This frustrates me sometimes. Then my inner voice reminds me 'They had work. Let it go. It's not their fault. It wasn't on purpose Sha' I just sigh and take out my phone to call mom. 

"Hey Sweetie. I am so sorry I didn't call. It was so sudden. We had to pack and all. Sorry dear." My mom says. 

"It's okay mom. I am used to it. Anyways, Heath and Mel are gonna stay the night." I say walking towards the sofa in the living room. 

"Oh! That's nice. Have dinner and don't stay up late. Good night dear. Take care. We will be back before Saturday." She says. 

"Ok Mom. Take care. Good night." I say and hang up and fall on the couch. 

My parents love me, but at times like this I feel a bit lonely. Earlier my brother used to stay but because of his work he isn't here. I sigh and go to my room to set up my bed and take out clothes for Mel and Heath. 

By the time I come downstairs dinner was ready and Heath had given Shiro his dinner. 

We eat dinner which was by the way awesome. Mel made pasta and it tasted heavenly. 

After dinner we lock all the doors downstairs and head upstairs along with Shiro. 

Shiro settles himself in his pillows by the corner of my room. We shower in turn and get ready for bed and go to sleep.  

Yeah! Right!

As if three girls could just sleep.  

Nop.  

The chance of girl bestfriends on a sleepover just having dinner and going to sleep is highly impossible. 

We shower one by one and get into something comfy and sit on the bed. 

"It's been long since we spent time together like this." Heath says and we all nod in agreement. 

All of a sudden out of nowhere Mel asks, "Heath how are things between you and Austin?" 

"Everything is fine. Why do you ask?" Heath replies coolly. 

"I just felt some tension between you guys that's all." She shrugs. 

"Yeah! True. Even I saw some tension between you guys that day when you gave me ideas of killing him." I add.

"OH! That was nothing. We just had a fight." She replied with a wave of her hand dismissing our accusations.  

"He just keeps on talking about hope that pisses me off." She mumbled to herself. 

Well bad for her Mel and I are vampires so we heard what she told.
