**Chapter 21-Fresher's Party**

"Turn up the music cause the song just came on

Turn up the music if they try to turn us down

Turn up the music, can I hear it til the speakers blow

Turn up the music, fill your cup, and drink it down"

Everyone on the dance floor is dancing away to the amazing songs the DJ is playing and I must admit, this is fun, loud music and dancing is something I like but not in front of many people. But it doesn't matter even if so many people are here because they don't bother you. Everyone just dances and has fun.

We arrived about an hour and half ago.

The seniors did an amazing job with this place, with tents, food, drinks, music everything. I don't hate parties but I don't like them much. But this one so far was good except the rose game.

We were supposed to give a rose to a senior and another rose to a freshmen. I didn't know who to give. So I gave it to Asher when it came to freshmen, can't say his girlfriend wasn't jealous, cause when I gave him the rose he went all out and even kissed my cheek smiling and I just laughed. I gave the other rose to my senior Samuel. He was a cool guy and he would wave and say hi to me when he would see me in the corridors and he was a hottie with his blonde hair and blue eyes, so my taste is good right?

I and Heath received a couple of roses from a few freshmen. Mel received quite a few roses actually and the guys received many. Well they did look quite dashing and handsome so that's that. Everyone didn't participate though, I guess few people managed to escape, lucky them. It wasn't that horrible though so all is well..for now.

After the rose game, they asked us to nominate four girls and four guys for Mr. and Miss Freshmen. And our gang yelled out Melissa's name and she wasn't expecting that. We just did it for fun. The winners would be announced later in the evening. That was the end of any sort of programs.

Then the music starts and everyone interested in dancing starts doing so. Not once did I see Vivian though, I just shrug it off, maybe he is busy with her.

I was handed a cup with some liquid, it wasn't anything strong, I could tell, so I gulped it down and I guess one cup was enough for me to let my friends pull me to the dance floor. We all started dancing like crazy, singing, more like yelling the lyrics of the song and moving our body to the beats. All in all we were having fun. I wanted to know who the DJ was, playing such awesome dance beats so I turn and look at the DJ and guess what? It is none other than Sam Kieran. When our eyes meet he just smiles at me and I smile too.

After about half an hour of dancing, I tell my friends that I need some fresh air, I don't think they heard me, so I just walk to the main building of my college, to my spot, the terrace. I keep humming the songs being played and twirl and subtlely move my hips and sway while walking, nodding my head and sing the lyrics. The main building is just behind where the party is.

This night is good. I felt good and happy, but not content.

I look at my hands and see the band-aid on my cut that my pup gave me when he was playing with me. The pain of this cut will be mine and only mine, no matter how hard I try I can't share it, coz it's me who is wounded. This is the reason of that empty feeling in my heart. That hollowness in my heart, will it ever be filled?

Will I ever be loved?

This question always haunts me. That is partly why I am scared of love and don't understand it.
