Wait, Jesse and Olivia are cousins?

"So you two know each other?" Trevor asks them.

"Yeah, we're cousins." Jesse answers.

"That's cool."

"There you are Jesse!" Allison says sitting down next to him. "Where were you?"

"The class had to stay after the bell."

"Already? That sucks."

"I know."

"It's so obvious he doesn't like her anymore." Caitlyn whispers in my ear.

I roll my eyes at her comment.

We talk about what we did over summer, even though we all already know what each other did.

The bell rings and we all stand up.

"I'll see you at practice later." Allison says to me.

She's also on the varsity volleyball team.

"Can't wait." I say sarcastically under my breath.

"What was that?"

"I said, see you then."

I catch up to Caitlyn as we walk to history.

~~

After history is geometry.

I walk into the room and find a seat towards the back of the room.

I got to class pretty early, so there was only two other people in the room.

A minute or so later, a bunch of football players walk into the room.

They all sit down in the back of the room too, but they leave the seat next to me open.

Right as the bell is ringing, Jesse walks into the room. I can't help but smile a little. He stops in the doorway and looks in the back of the room at his friends. When he sees me, he smiles a little too.

He walks backs here and sits down at the seat next to mine.

The teacher begins class.

~~

Class ended a few minutes before the bell, so our teacher gives us time to talk.

The football players start talking about the game on Friday. Apparently it's a big game.

"Hey Rhylee, are you going to the game on Friday?" Jesse asks me.

"Yeah. I go to every game." I answer.

That's actually not a lie. I've gone to every Friday night game since I was in 7th grade. My dad said that I needed to go to support my brother. To be completely honest, I have no idea what's going on when it comes to football. I know the basics, but that's about all. But watching Jesse, I mean Trevor, play every week last year during the season really helped me learn some stuff.

"I know." He says kinda quiet, but I still heard him.

"What?" I ask him smiling a little.

"Nothing."

"So Jesse, how's Ali?" Ben, one of the guys asks him.

"She's fantastic." He says sarcastically.

"You sound thrilled, what's up with you two?"

"I don't know anymore. I-"

The bell rings and cuts him off.
