Chapter 18: Know No Bounds

My heart does not assimilate inherent limitation exceeding that which should not be ethically feasible. It had seemed to have a mind of its own engaging in obscene rebellious behavior; frantically trembling before the individual of its adoration. This rouge creature of the night whom welcomed no summons commanded my heart.

My awareness faded in and out as I tried to reclaim dominance over my cognition. I was receptive of my surroundings yet felt like I was in a euphoric dreamlike condition. Someone was carrying me on their back as they walked nimbly through the hallway.

"Damn....you're heavy." A husky voice complained.

I smirked noting the amusement that lingered in the tone.

"Oi! pancake. Are you awake yet?" Ayato asked.

"Mhm..." I moaned.

"Tsk...dammit, wake up... I'm pissed off." He snarled.

"A...Atato." I yawned.

"Geez, it took you long enough!" Ayato grumbled his hand resting under my bottom.

"What...what happened? Put me down!" I yelled embarrassed at the contact.

" Don't struggle." He ordered.

He captured my wrists guiding them around his neck.

"Hey, put your arms around my back more."

I quickly tighten my grip as he had wanted.

"That's it... Just like that."

My heart clamored at the sudden intimacy. It leaped from my chest resting in my throat.

"Yui, ... Continue to keep needing me." He breathed.

He continued down the hallway until he reached his bedroom.

"You'll sleep with me tonight, no objections." He demanded.

He set me down in the climb into the bed.

"Now, over here come." He spread out his arms.

I felt like a newborn wobbling on unsteady feet.

"Oi...can you walk?" He asked with a ghost of a smile

"I can." I declared, refusing to renounce my pride.

I step forward languidly somehow still managed to fall over.

"Idiot , you're all for show." He grimaced.

He scooped me up in his arms and placed me in the bed. Next he took the blanket and threw it at me.

"Go to bed." He said laying next to me.

I snuggled under the blanket and shut my eyes.

"You're behaving yourself, that's new." He bemused pulling me into his arms.

"Sweet dreams, Yui."

I knew that night I would have sweet dreams as he had said. Because that night that she devil vanished into the forest. I only hoped I would never see her again.
